Donna here, as a subscriber, I cannot believe that you don't have more subscribers than you do. I live in southern US and hear other youtubers talk about you, so I was shocked when I looked. Needless to say, I look forward to every episode and watch when I know I won't be interrupted. Thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos!
A Castle Nation, such beautiful footage, of course the music tops it off! My Favorite Blanket , the scrap version is fantastic. It is such a relaxing knit. Beautiful necklace, Kay!😍
I love Polka Dot Creek yarns! She dyes such lovely colours. Airdrie is just north of Calgary surrounded by golden fields, big blue skies and a view of the Rocky Mountains.
England: A Castle Nation is off to a great start. I am fascinated by English and Tudor history, can't wait to see more! Kay, thank you for the upcoming update to the Jelly Roll Blanket, I have been wanting to do a DK version.
Hello! Thank You for another lovely visit. Knit Picks now has Sunstruck Foursquare DPNs. Thinking Dan might like to give these a try. I only use wooden DPNs, since I watched Arne & Carlos suggest wooden DPNs, to keep stitches from sliding off the ends.
Love the new socks and can’t wait for the pattern Kay and Dan loving the castle series so far as 1066 was one of my favourite history lessons at school 😊😊😊
WOW!! I see what you mean about that Journey video - holy smokes! That song rang through my adolescence and it means a lot to me. Thanks for sharing, wow.
I’m from Alberta so it was extra nice to hear Polka Dot Creek mentioned! At the point I realized I was knitting the Stitch in Time Blanket using Polka Dot Creek yarn!
If you would like to know more about Airdrie, Canada there is a podcast called The Knitty Stew. Leanne is a flight attendant for a Canadian airline and does wonderful podcasts on her overnight stays . She features local history and local yarn shops and of course new projects and finished projects. One of her friends is also a yarn dyer. I am loving the new year’s podcasts and recipes. You give us so much information and instruction and Dan’s segments on England’s history and its countryside are amazing. I look forward to your podcasts because they feed my love of knitting, baking, and history. The countryside is beautiful ! Thank you both so much for giving us music, artistic crafts and wonderful knowledge. Please say thank you as well to your brother Dominic for his amazing talent and contributions. I equally love hearing Dan talk about his favorite drummers and musicians. Stay well and creative artists that you are. I so appreciate everything you share with your viewers. ❤
Yes! We attended years ago when Journey and Def Leppard toured together and were blown away by Mr. Pineda’s stage presence and vocals! Totally agree about him looking like he’s in his twenties and his energy throughout the whole concert was epic!
I had to look up to see what you were talking about when you said you had a new gilet. It sounds awesome. Here in the US it's just called a winter vest. Lol. Ours doesn't have lots and lots of pockets though.
oh my goodness you all have done it again this is so good i love history also and you all do a great job keep up the good work i cannot wait to see the other things you have to offer us and the music is wonderful
Great episode! Thank you so much! Absolutely loved the Castles series - I love history and you have a great way of explaining things. Of course, Dom's music is always just the best! 😊
What a history lesson!! The audio was for me sound effect. Like sometimes you were wearing a knights helmet and the visor kept falling down. Dom's music really set the mood. My husband was a bass player, he passed during covid, and he was a fan of Jaco Pastorius and he told me on our first date the drummers and bass players worked together to provide a rhythmic pulse. I am a KC fan. Patrick Holmes is the most gifted quarter back I have ever seen and I've been watching football longer than you two have been alive.
Hello! I think you would also be astounded by Dan Vasc, heavy metal singer, singing Faithfully. Also check out his other renditions, including Amazing Grace. Truly mystical as Kay says.
❤enjoyed that!! Love ur new socks kay!!!!! Excited for soring shorties pattern!!!!🎉🎉 Love ur reading shawl!!!!i started one like ur in scrappy style!!!!loving it!!!! Great start to the series!!dan!!!!! Elaine ☃️🧦💕
Just rewatching this one Dan, you gave us SO much wonderful castle information! So enjoyable! The green socks you are making are almost identical in colour to the ones i have just made for Steve's birthday.
My husband always asks me to screen mirror your episodes pertaining to castles to our big tv. He loves your video productions. He also made a comment when we watched the knitting content after Part One. He said that your Ikea cabinet came from the land of the Vikings......so the Vikings brought all knitters their knitting storage. He built me one too! Great episode. Thank you so much! from Canada
People know who you are…I have watched you since way before Dan got sick. I totally look forward to your shows. Top of my list to watch on Friday night. Right behind you is Fleece & Harmony and Needles at the Ready! Have a good evening.
LOVE your documentaries!! Love the knitting, too! (BTW, each state sets their own tax rates, some do NOT even have income tax! Some have NO sales tax, and if you live in an adjacent state, you borrow a friend''s truck so you can buy big ticket items, like refrigerators, and haul them home. I live in Massachusetts, affectionately called "Taxachusetts". Guess why. )
Thanks for all of the castle goodness. The staircase and right-handed knight's advantage is so interesting to me. I always thought yarn was less expensive in the US. I guess it only applies to brand names with great clearance prices. I have seen numerous online sites with hand dyed yarn costing the same dollar amount as Canadian hand dyed yarn. The only problem is the exchange rate to buy it in Canada is a minimum of 30% these days. Then shipping, taxes, and duties to get it across the border.
I'm a relatively new viewer, and really enjoying your shows! Thanks! I live near Detroit, and have been a disappointed Lions fan for most of my life. I'm curious to know, how did you two come be Detroit Lions fans?
Dan you need to watch “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey” it a documentary about finding the new lead singer for Journey….it is really interesting it’s from 2013.
Dan, absolutely loved A Castle Nation. It was brilliant!! The music was fabulous. My Grandad was from Manchester, I love seeing what made up part of my heritage. Kay, I'm in the US and I can tell you that every single knitter I know absolutely knows about Bakery Bears. Some of us are Bakery Bears Patrons as well as avid watchers of the podcast. It's a treat for me to sit down with my tea (coffee in the morning, tea at night) and knitting to settle in for the podcast. Like you, I'm an avid sock knitter. Since I started knitting socks in 2018 (I've been a knitter since 2002), my husband will only wear hand knit socks. He has 47 pair and I'm working on another pair for him. I've just started using your umbrella toe for all of my socks. SOOOOOOOooooooo much more comfortable than the more common wedge toe. Since you've received a delivery from Canada so quickly, can I suggest another Canadian maker you might like? Timber Yarns is a favorite of mine. Heather dyes beautiful stripes and semi solids. Her yarn is 80/20 and such a pleasure to knit with. It makes the loveliest socks that stand up to washing and wear. I'm pretty hard on socks. Socks using Heather's yarn have held up beautifully. She's one of my favorite yarn dyers.
Pure joy. I'm a newer viewer catching up on episodes from earlier this year and I can't tell you how much I look forward to watching your videos.

Hi. I'm also from south US! I feel the same way with such incredible content I can't believe it
Love you guys. You and your talent, your marriage, your friendship you have with each other, is totally refreshing 💕
the whole videocast is a delight….the historical portion, which I love, is a narrative, visual and soundtracked triumph! 🙂❤️
A Castle Nation, such beautiful footage, of course the music tops it off! My Favorite Blanket , the scrap version is fantastic.

Shelly's yarn is amazing! I can drive to her shop and they're all so friendly.
The two of you are so lovely and I truly enjoyed this podcast
Thank you so much

A Castle Nation is fantastic, I didn't notice the sound problem. Love the 49er socks!
WOW!! I see what you mean about that Journey video - holy smokes! That song rang through my adolescence and it means a lot to me. Thanks for sharing, wow.
An incredible episode. I was spellbound with the castle series. I’m excited about Kay’s new sock design. Well done both of you.
I’m from Alberta so it was extra nice to hear Polka Dot Creek mentioned! At the point I realized I was knitting the Stitch in Time Blanket using Polka Dot Creek yarn!
Loved the new series - I learned so much! And once again Kay, I’m inspired to knit all the socks and your Reading Shawl. Another great episode.
Thank you Dan & Kay 😊
I really would love to see you dye the speckled yarn :)

Very happy to promote your work again Addy, my Taylor Swift loving daughter can’t wait to get her socks! 💖

Hello from Swansea, Illinois.

I love watching your podcasts I enjoyed the castle section even though your mic acted up. Thank goodness for backups.

Yessss Detroit Lions
Arnel is great but no one can replace Steve Perry! ❤ and he actually sounds just like Steve so the songs still hold the same power.
The Knitty Stew was in Airdrie and showed a little of the town in a recent episode.
And showed footage of the Polka Dot Creek yarn store too!
There was a documentary about Journey’s search for that lead singer . Maybe Netflix?
I'm a relatively new viewer, and really enjoying your shows! Thanks! I live near Detroit, and have been a disappointed Lions fan for most of my life. I'm curious to know, how did you two come be Detroit Lions fans?

Hi Kay.
How many garter stitches do you add to the heel ?
It looks lovely.
🇬🇧💕
Thank you! 3 stitches for the garter edge ❤
