you are a good storyteller Dan, it was very interesting and the surroundings wow. Can't wait to see the next episode. Love your new sock pattern Kay, there is no rule what you have to knit, knit what you like and love.

Absolutely amazing history lesson, Dan! I’ve always been interested in Henry VIII and his wives! I’ve seen and loved the all female production of the musical which tells the story of the wives. In fact, it is one of my all time favorites. I also love the music you and your brother do! Such talent! I sometimes just close my eyes and listen. Kay, you are such a beautiful knitter, and expert teacher. I’m so happy to be a patron of yours to support your show. Take care of yourselves and each other. With much admiration….Cindi

No egg cup for me - used to bite the top off the egg and lick out the cream. Perhaps we weren't so refined in Scotland, however still do that living in Australia

In crochet I just say I started a new project. I have never heard anyone say they cast on a crochet project since you only have one live stitch on the hook at a time. Now in Tunisian crochet you do cast on all of your stitches onto the hook after you have chained the number of stitches you need for the project. It would be interesting to see if other crocheters have a different way of saying how they start a project.

When I first saw the "cardigan", I thought, Oh, what a lovely blanket with a beautiful border! If it were me and I had enough yarn, I'd keep on, it would make a stunning heirloom blanket!

We lived in Florida for 42 years until recently. We now live in Arizona. Sanibel is an island on the gulf coast of Florida. Very popular beaches that were hit hard by a recent hurricane. There’s a famous lighthouse on the beach. It’s south of Tampa by about a 3 hour car drive. We lived near Sanibel in Cape Coral since I was 13. My daughter has gone to a few Tampa Bucs games and she said the pirate ship is amazing in person. Very exciting when the cannon goes off or when they “shoot” shirts into the crowd. Football games are exciting to watch but they’re a full on event when seen in person. Bonus no snow in Florida 😎

Kay, I only wish I could knit as well as you do...I am continually amazed at the amount of items you finish (me not so much) and the beauty of your stitching. Take pride sista, take pride.

Dan, the train station at Helmsley, closed in 1964. So when we went last year, we went by bus from York. What a lovely journey! We even saw a white horse etched on the hillside (Kilburn), which made us feel right at home, as we often pass the one in Somerset. Such a lot to see in Helmsley! We need to revisit and visit the big house! We didn't even realise the walled garden was there. We were very struck by the allotments and the 'royal' scarecrows, dressed for the coronation.

At the end of the day, your knitting is for you and it really doesn't matter what people think you should or shouldn't be doing with it. I would rather watch you rip something out that isn't working for you than finish something you hate.

Kay, I kind of feel the same as you about garment knitting. I WANT to knit sweaters, but I find that I "lose interest" part way through. Also, I struggle with the fit of most sweaters. I can't tell you how many sweater WIPs I have! I do like knitting vests (also a garment!). Oh well. I will finish some of them but probably not all of them.

I really like George Kittle! He's such a goofy guy, you should see all the TV ads he has made! Kay: your cardi-cowl is going to look amazing! Sanibel is a beautiful beach on the west coast of Florida.

I think I understood the history of Henry VIII and how the War of the Roses all fit together for the first time! And I kept telling you, Dan, to go into that “long building”. You heard me! 😉 Can’t wait for the next Castle show.

Oh, Kay, I have to laugh when you talk about the steep road. It wouldn't hold a candle to the only road out of the mountain valley (Bella Coola, BC) where I live. It is a one lane gravel road that goes from about 500 feet to about 5000 feet in ashort distance. If you meet another car the person going down the hill needs to find a place to pull over as there isonly one lane.

Kay, I totally get what you are saying about garment knitting! I can do it but it just isn't my favorite. I'd much rather knit socks, shawls , accessories! But, I too have these dumb inadequacy feelings when I don't knit a garment.....so crazy.
I admit I get tired of these people who knit hundreds of Petite knit and My Favourite Things pieces ( I'm jealous 😅)
Knit what names you happy! You are lovely!❤❤❤

Good decision to knit a cowl vs the cardigan. Didn't sound like your heart was in it, especially because you are so prolofic. A beautiful yarn shouldn't be left in a project bag. Your socks are stunning, and I've seen many a knitter scared to attempt a pair of socks. You do you!
I'm a loose knitter and currently trying out a pair of socks with Kollage Square circulars. They are as grippy as my bamboo needles.

You should consider watching Canadian football. Much better than American in my view. Bigger field, bigger end zone and only 3 downs
