Kay you are a dying magician!! That yarn is sooo beautiful and so cool that it reflects One for the Blackbird One for the Crow that you so love : ) And Dan, that hat you knitted for your mum is so lovely She's a blessed lady : ) Happy Easter - He is Risen!!
I love the colors you chose for your Reading Shawl! There is nothing like having your daughter pick up a craft you do and run with it! My favorite weight is the 80 - 20 especially with the high twist! Those are gorgeous socks!
Hi, Kay and Dan! Rhubarb is for summer pies here in California. And Kay, you need to check out the Stanwood ball winder…by far the best tool I have ever purchased. Zero fussing.
As soon as your podcast was over I went to Audible and down loaded One for the blackbird and One foe the Crow and I just want to tell you how much I'm enjoying that listen. Thank you for your great show.
Your yarn is beautiful! Also love the book recommendation, I’m going to try it next. As far as starting walking with your dominant foot, this winter I broke 3 toes and messed up muscles and tissues in my right leg. I have had to stop and think before I do steps, etc. because I would always have started with my right foot and now can’t. A learning curve for sure.
Wonderful episode. Love that dyed yarn Kay. And Dan, that sweater is a triumph. Looking forward to the Easter show especially since I won’t have to get up in the middle of the night this time!
Rhubarb in mid Atlantic states US can be cut early May, sometimes late April. Personally I don’t care for it due to the sweetness required in recipes. Over sweet to me. Love your podcasts. Especially love the history walks! Thank you!
I’m so excited for the latest yarny book club! I literally finished the book The Ghost yesterday. I loved it. I read the whole book in two days. As I was finishing it I thought oh I hope the next book recommendation comes out soon.
Since the Prairie Socks pattern is still my favorite pattern, It will be a joy to knit a shorty pair or two!! Thanks for the heads up with the eye of partridge heel. I have noticed the difference in my success with it and now I know why. You are why I gravitate to your patterns Kay!
Just catching up on episodes… Kay, I personally think Opal and Regia etc design their sock yarns based on a 64 st sized sock and therefore if you deviate from that, you get somewhat interesting results. I tend to use them on a 64 sts for me, but when I’ve knitted them for hubby (72st) or for my smaller footed friends, (56 sts) then the jacquard/ print type yarns (as opposed to just a stripe) always look different to mine. Personally, I liked the look of the ugly socks 😆🤎
❤morning !!! Great to catch up !! Love the thicker plumper yarns !!!they feel so good!! Rhubarb is usually a spring/early summer crop, but I've read there are varieties that have two harvests. I wonder if that's what you're seeing in Autumn? Mine only has one harvest. It's done by June and dies off in the Autumn.
I can't tell you how much I love your episodes! I've just found your channel and I'm thrilled! I've been in search of the Quantock Hat pattern and the yarn that Dan used and I'm not having any luck finding the pattern on Ravelry or which yarn he used. Would you be able to give me some specifics? Thank you so much!
My daughter picked up cross stitch about 1 month after I gave all of my supplies to a friend. Tried to teach crochet to her and it was a no go! Rhubarb is generally harvested in Canada in the spring. I've read to avoid harvesting more than 1 third of the plant in any season and not after a frost. The frost causes the oxalic acid to move from the leaves to the stalks apparently.
It's a Klingon Bird of Prey and a Romulan Warbird. I think you were talking about the Bird of Prey. My husband is a Trekkie and almost had an aneurysm when he heard that part!
Great show as always♥️🧶 l am considering a project in Plötulopi, and l would appreciate your opinion on this yarn Dan, have you tried it before? Being a Letlopi fan l thought you may have done.
Rhubarb is the first plant to emerge in my garden every spring, before the asparagus! I’m in the Pacific Northwest 😊
Thanks for recommending “One for the Black Bird One for the Crow” what a beautiful story. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
Huge little house on the prairie fan. Adding your book to my reading list.

Kay, I love your idea of a gift package with the shawl, books, and some goodies. I would love to receive a gift like that!

Our rhubarb is about ready for harvest any day. Rhubarb is the first home grown harvest we get. I live on the central coast of BC in Canada.
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. Love your pink socks.

Well I ordered the book, I feel that I can really relate to Buela too. Thank you for sharing.
!!!Alpaca wool doesn't hold water? That must be what is so great about it. Imagine not worrying about getting wet in the rain or snow!
Great show! BTW, this is the first time I've seen ads play on your show.

Kay, if you love stories about the settlement of the US prairie states. One of my favorite books is “A Lantern in Her Hand” by Bess Streeter Aldrich.
It's a Klingon Bird of Prey and a Romulan Warbird. I think you were talking about the Bird of Prey. My husband is a Trekkie and almost had an aneurysm when he heard that part!
Rhubarb season starts now until 23 June, St. John’s day.
