great video! There are some jumps that are just pure mental, especially some of the small ones oddly enough. You are so close I feel like to massive progression in the flow. Especially helpful for me to focus on slow mo footage and trying to really loosen up.
Awesome video Kara it’s just the getting your head around that jump we’re it turns on you. Be honest those gap jumps out in the open are way more scary than that jump you are trying to send 😊
I've still not got over it either, something about those fins! I did at least manage the start of the 8 pack at Unbound....not been back on it yet though. I quite like the step up at the end of 21 Jump street but still haven't managed the step up in the middle!
A wise man once said "If you think you can or if you think you can't, you're right on both counts" . Don't worry Kara, you're going to get that pesky jump, take your time but definitely listen to Tom. You're jump progression and overall riding has come so far. Controlling your fear isn't an easy thing especially on jumps. I want you to think this when it comes to fear, It stands for Face Everything And Rise. You've got this. 😎👍
Nice riding that gap line. You need to pop with your legs though on that Rhum Trousers line. You tend to rely on speed to get over jumps (which is fine if you have a long run in & run out). Tom will know this. Get him to show you how to pop. Relying on speed is a symptom of using an ebike. You're progressing well though (imho) & enjoying the riding so don't take this negatively. I know loads of riders who've ridden for ages & are no where near as good at gaps as you. Great video. Atb.
Everyone says learn how to pop. Like that's easy.. Do a session on bunny hops. Just do bunny hops. Until you can hop over a 6 inch obstacle, don't bother with these sharkfins.
I think your self encouragement is acting like an impediment. Try tuning yourself out and just flow. A river doesn't stop and build confidence it just flows.
I think you have found your "toilet bowl". Remember the 270 berm to blind gap jump TC just couldn't hit? This shark fin is yours. It's deceptively technical and you may have a berm preference, like you may prefer rights over lefts. You can jump, no doubt, now you need to add berm smashing to your repertoire.
Exact!! We want to help you but its no help to speekt only good words. Your skills and speed are mutch better in last time but now needs Technik. Do it again and again take your time but not on speed or take a ride with charlotte
I may get smashed for this but there has to be honesty as well as encouragement. Sometimes, (just sometimes) people get to a level in a hobby, passtime or sport and that level is their ceiling, they can continue to do what they are doing well but cannot progress.
until they decide to progress more. I hadn't been able to barspin on a bmx for 10+ years...and then I decided I wanted to learn and took the (tedious) steps to actually throw one. She will progress as fast as she dedicates herself. She didnt have the confidence and knew it.
Back on the Ebike I see , you did amazing on the acoustic bike , that Ebike looks so heavy to control midair, you do 100 times better on the Enduro bike. Anyway I’ll shut up now because the “ bunny hop “ comments have been around for 5 years now plus you ride with a pro mtb rider so just follow his advice and keep practicing
Hey Kara, nice gap jumps. Them shark fin jumps, am a right mind game. Just relax a little, you can do it.
That in car mat set up thing is awesome.

Crushed it!

You need to learn how to Pop then it will get easier

10:10 "...come on, Kara..."
Go faster and pop
Your bikes are dirty in your garage! No go!
Just get a trailer hitch receiver
I never see you stand up!! I dont know why you dont look how Tom Jumps or that he dont see that???
Yeah technique is crucial.
Speed will get you over small stuff, but technique wins overall.

I can tell your problem immediately. You're thinking too much.
Try some other activity. Dog walking or something
