So we got a big new patch on our hands with Ermac making his debut in MK1. Lots of stuff you would expect in terms of things like bug fixes, its the start of a new season and all that, but also some pretty major changes to some of the characters! Full patch notes are in the video description if you wanna check those out, everything timestamped as you would expect (so leave a like why not!?) and yeah lets go over it! Very, very impressed with Rain and Reptile in particular, pretty solid patch!

The nerf to Peacemaker Forcefield as nerfs his survival in Invasion! I was ABUSING forcefield in Survival nodes 😂

Yeah peacemaker is the only reason I beat the last season of invasions the survival games. They said you can skip missions now tho so maybe it wont be detrimental
This looks to be a net positive patch for NRS! A server I'm in was pretty satisfied with the changes, so I'm happy there is a little bit of positivity coming out of the community!
Hopefully this is just the beginning of new moves and buffs for characters. Happy Reptile got some buffs but this should just be the start 🦎
Hard agree! Hopefully many more new moves or strings added in the future, even if some things need to get nerfed over time new moves can make characters play different ways.
I also think the base roster Kameos could use some new tools, at least 50 percent of them

The Havik dev needs to come back from his vacation already. Glad the Jonny dev woke up and toned him down. He must’ve gotten an MVP reward or something for strongest character at launch.
New patch, new moves, meanwhile Havik still found in a ditch somewhere dire for buffs.
He must be sharing it with Sub-Zero.

I did unfortunately start my day a bit later than I thought I would so sorry this video is also a bit later than you'd expect. Ermac coverage? Maybe tomorrow. The patch was significant enough( and this video is already almost 20 minutes) that if I tried to cover ermac as well i'd just wind up shortchanging him. Ermac so far seems really dang cool! Put on the mask to cover his silly face and then all of a sudden you can forgive a lot, and his moveset and options seem really strong(so far).

NRS doesn't talk to us but they improve the game every season. I enjoy the frequency of dlc. I generally agree with how they choose to distribute nerfs and buffs. Little things like the availability of all seasonal fatalities as make me happy. Big thingd like new moves for characters and Kameos makes me very happy. They add entirely new nodes in invasions which helps to break up monotony. I could go on but the bottom line is I'm surprised by the content Mk1 gives me despite being under the thumb of greedy overlords like WB. It is satisfying when a fighting game gives me a sense of optimism instead of the feeling of impending doom. I won't point any fingers but one of the games I was very optimistic about in this new golden age is definitely inspiring skepticism. Starts with a T.

I am happy with the Reptile and Rain changes. I actually thought that only the EX Acid spit was long range but turns out that it is either version, very happy about this. Looking forwards to testing out the changes with Rain.
I was hoping for something with Nitara but alas not this time.
I love that we get new moves with patches, it just gives one more to mess around with.
Finally even though I only used him for about 30 minutes or so, Ermac looks like he will be allot of fun.

I'm not one to advocate for big nerfs, especially in an assist fighter but Stormcell needed to be looked at. Glad that got changed cos not since Trident Rush has there been a more braindead fighting game move

The requirement to raidens storm cell brutality was changed too. Now it only looks it has to be done either with an enahanced storm cell, or you have to be in electric charge and do a regular storm cell to do it. Why that was changed beats me.
Meanwhile characters that are in dire need of buffs didn't even get touched.

baraka was and still is one of the best characters in the game at launch and has recived verry minimal nerfs, mileena is perfect sub has mixups for days and shang is also perfect you just dont know how to play him
as for havik and nitara you might be onto something there but the rest of the characters dont need to be any better than they already are i dont want another mk9 situation.

I’ll probably get clowned first asking, but if canceling out of rains projectile will still combo then what’s the point of canceling it and not just going into the move after the cancel if they will be stunned enough not to be able to block it anyways?

I finally played mk1 after many months. Felt good. Gotta relearn the feel, been all sf6 for a while.
Ermac is fun. He and rain look likely for me. But we'll see. Most importantly I'm just so excited with the work they're doing. Maybe this will help me zone out on sf6 til the patch! Wooooo
Bought in late November haven't played since the Khameleon released. I may check this out. The Kahn skin is not my first choice, but i may go for it

theres a bunch of strings on her movelist that say N/A so i think they fucked up and revealed the strings too early as imputting the comands doesnt do anything

I'm surprised Rain has new moves now. I've been genuinely satisfied with my Rain & Shujinko team since launch, F3,2 was slow but it was enough to get the job done. This is great though, BIG GIRTHY SHUJINKO STOCKS

Damn I haven't had any desire to play MK1 in a while but I am a Rain main and all this shit looks very appealing so I might just jump back into the game at some point. I've just been having so much fun with Ed in SF6 but I might just have to jump back on my PS5 for some MK1. Especially considering I've seen a lot of good things with Rain + Janet Cage

Ugh... I liked the Forcefield because it was like one of the only moves in the entire game that just said "No." to Reiko's stupid shurikens. Sub's ice armor is only helpful if you are super on point and just immediately counter right after the throw because one throw shreds it. And then you got Khameleon's Jade glow but that move seems to whiff like krazy unless you stand PERFECTLY still which makes it really awkward to utilize on top of the cyclic nature of Khameleon, and then you got Motaro's reflect which does totally work but Motaro is not a great or optimal kameo pairing with a LOT of the kast, he's great on a few characters but the rest he doesn't do much for them.
Like I know there are options and ways to deal with the shurikens, but just being able to say "No." and remove that factor from the mental stack was really satisfying. I'd be fine with just the duration nerf but nerfing both duration AND absorption feels a bit much.

Subzero got screwed again. The clone bug they created in season 2 is still there as is the reverse clone input for corner combo's(something no other character deals with) he still forces a mind game on the sub player while trying to jail(something no other characters deals with) still no damage buff.
They also added crossplay for ranked and casual

Started MK1 using Rain, switched to Reiko and. Shao. These new Rain moves are nice, ill start playing Rain agajn. I wish they would give Reiko more grappling moves. And no more Reptile additions, hes already good enough. And thank god they nurffed Peacemaker shield....that shyt lasted way too long.
regarding MK adding new moves often, it helps that they don't care if the animation looks terrible

Bruh I LOVE the Raiden "nerfs" he is actually fair to fight now. I love that storm cell is Negative on Block. So many times that I got cheese from this move

Peace Maker being nurfed was a bummer, but we knew it was coming. They will do the same thing to Ermac when the next character comes out.

As a Raiden/Jax main, I’m pretty much unbothered by this nerf. Can’t wait to implement the razzle dazzle. I already found a 42% corner combo with it that I don’t think was possible before now that EX razzle dazzle launches.
Razzle dazzle ex is my favorite Raiden move so stylish.
@@MacDibs yeah I agree, it looks really cool. Just wish it was more useful. They definitely made it more useful than it was before but probably not quite enough, idk. I think nerfing his passive hurt the buff.
i haven't been coming up with mk1 in awhile wtf they nerfed raiden again?? didnt he get nerfed the last patch with his chip damage, and people still complained about him?
