For all the people saying engine break in is a myth and that some full throttle runs are recommended, yes. It is recommended to vary the engine rpms but this dude was hitting the rev limiter non stop. Ur atleast supposed to be a little careful and some full throttle runs but he was legit abusing the engine at 0 hours. I wanna see that ski when it hits 50 hours, if it makes it that long
Beautiful machine. 5 days ago I bought a new 2019 Yamaha WaveRunner FX Limited SVHO. Tomorrow I plan to take it on its first fun day on the water. Unlike you, I plan not to go swimming. I plan to follow exactly what the manual says on how to break it in. I'll give you this, you sure sounded like you were having a load of fun.
@@TheImpulse20098 Yeah I saw the manual directions after I rode it for awhile. Oh well. I did a bunch of variety, so I'm sure its fine. Not sure why it doesnt have break in in limits in the ECU like the Sea Doo does. Prolly not that important.
There is literally nothing better than Jet Skying on Smith Mountain Lake! You are brave though.... have not hit the water this year yet. I need a bit warmer weather!
Best ski for buoy racing haha. Mine is a 2017 GP1800 with stage 2 plus mods all riva racing. I hit 88 on gps.. Scary but fun. I love the visceral handling though. It will take anything you throw at it and still kick your ass. Do a thru hull exhaust intake tune with a prop to start. And you will be at almost 80. Not that you need it. Run ams oil 10-40 change oil every 20 hrs
just dnt tune it aggresive and dont redline it all the time and you should be ok. and of course #1thing is maintenance. flush ski after every ride. wanna really secure yourself put springs n retainers.
@French Frys the gp can handle chop but its no cruiser. But again you have to decide what's important to you. Its a visceral handling accelerating thrill ride. I go for long rides. I stand up and sit down. Fx is best of both worlds but i like the light feel of the ski and handling. That and the ride system for reverse and such cant be touched. Havent ridden the new seadoo. Im sure its nice but i prefer a yamaha power plant
@@zo6zr1joey52 i did everything the riva racing ski has. If you look it up on their site. Basically a stage 2 plus ski. Stage 3 is bigger supercharger.
Louis Bordonaro reason why our Yamaha EX Sport says the top speed is 82 and we got 86 out of it with a mint break in period. Also have a Yamaha FX Cruiser HO and is run in mint as 👍👌
All the guys bitching about break in period obviously know nothing about the break in period. The killer for a new engine is prolonged periods at the same rpm. Even riding 30mph for long periods is hard on an engine during break in. Quick bursts on the throttle is recommended
Not when it has 0 hours ! You know nothing about pwc’s if you think that. Your supposed to actually keep it at a certain rpm for a certain time period. For example with the ski in this vid the gp1800 First 5 mins below 2000 rpm The next 90 mins below 5000 rpm 95 mins onwards ride it like you've escaped from prison
Break in is a myth. The motors are already been played with. Every motorcycle I have owned I broke in like I was going to ride it in 2 years fast. Its not like its a motor that has never been turned over. These motors have hrs b4 U buy.
not only does he not break it in, he doesn't even let the oil get to operating temperature before going full throttle. perfect example of how not to drive your pwc. If you'r not rich and want your ski to last, break it in according to the manual and drive around at low rpm's for a few minutes every time to let the oil warm up. Your ski and wallet will thank you.
todays standard on factory engines are very good. and the engine is already broken in otherwise you would have to change the oil when the break in period on 10hours is done, but you dont. thats why its bullshit. because the engines are already broken in
@@supertreme5559 i just got one and it says in the manual to run it for 5 mins at 2000tpm then do 4000rmp or under for next 90 mins...and to change oil at 10 hours.. im defiantly not guna run it like this guy did..lol

I was thinking the same thing! lol
Lol I agree. Probably should have read the manual just a little on how to break it in. I guess to each their own.

Good job for the salesman at the dealership for explaining it to the buyer how to properly break it in.

Why didn’t the sales guy tell him he needs to break it in......?
