The weathering on the engine house was really cool. I always wondered how to make that effect. I never stop learning in the greatest hobby . Thanks Ken.

Vallejo brand Liquid Mask is a good alternative to using the cement for achieving the weathered paint look.

Ken, I wonder, since your foam diorama panels are already sized for the project at the start - why not clamp them edge-up to rout the groove & glue those wooden splines in BEFORE starting any trackwork, scenery, surface decoration, etc??
    Just curious ...

Not going to lie... got a bit of the heebie jeebies watching him use that router along the thin edge of that long layout that he was holding with his hand, that went below the level of the router. I mean at the very least use a smaller trim router, or better yet carve that groove out as the first step before decoration using a router table or circular saw.

Is there a specific reason that you cut the 1x strips into 6" ish sections and not left the strip the full length of the foam? Does it have to do with adhesion or expansion/contraction of materials?

    Hello Ken
I love your videos and content.
Im needing your expertise. Im wanting to start an N scale layout.
Im not like you who can cut track and all that.
I need to choose an track starter set pack.
What set would you choose from kato or bachmann . Im on budget so cant do marklin and all that expensive brands.
I need to choose an brand and stay with that one.
    Looking to hear from you

Nice build! Any thoughts on how you would add legs to the module, if you did not want use it as a shelf?
    Thank you

You don't so much N scale stuff, but guaranteed I watch less because, I tend to overlook Bachmann as well. I was trying to be nice but what else more can I say.. Seen you at trainfest in Milwaukee. Didn't want to take the time to bother you though!
