Thanks a million for the frank clear and honest presentation. Bravo. I taught for a while and due to some mobility issues, I need to create my own online classroom. I currently use Google Classroom but struggling to get students. So I do like the info you are sharing.
I am new to this online teaching and at first I didn't think I'd like outschool but after watching this, I'm going for it. Thanks for sharing this invaluable info from a 'seasoned' teacher. I am excited. So much to learn and share.
Wow, this interview is extremely informative and inspiring! Thank you, Teacher Jade for taking the time to share your knowledge and to Elliot for setting it up. $10,000 a month through Outschool... I can't even imagine what that'd be like! I do video game social clubs mostly on Outschool and make around $1,200-ish a month, but when I first got hired, my plan was to actually teach beginner/intermediate guitar. I soon realized how tough it was to teach guitar without being physically present to help correct the kids' finger positions, tune their guitars for them, etc., and so I sort of got turned off from teaching guitar over Zoom. The idea of creating like a 12-week flex course though... from what Teacher Jade explained, sounds like it might work! I'd love to be able to earn some consistent income while taking time off from live teaching. I'm inspired! :)
She's very successful, very cool, but we must all keep in mind that she got started when Outschool was just getting started. That makes a big difference.
This was very informative. I have been thinking of doing this online teaching thing too. I work in a brick and mortar school now, and I am just burnt out. I hate all of the paperwork. And I got used to being home, during the pandemic. Thank you for this interview!
@@Teacher_Jade Not yet. I feel so overwhelmed with the amount of work needed to post everything. However, I will check out the new Flex class policy. Thanks for reminding me. ☺️
I was hired by Outschool in 2020. I could NOT get students. I would love to do this as my full time job. I‘ve taught in the classroom for 21 years and lost my hearing in one ear in 2008. I would LOVE to teach from home but I just can’t seem to get learners. You have done an amazing job. Congrats!
Love this video. Congrats, Jade! I teach private piano lessons on Outschool and would love to do a couple of Flex classes, but don't have much technical ability. Do you think that hiring someone from Fiverr might work? I definitely think I could make a fun Flex class.
Great video, I'm getting ready to my audition tape for our school but I have a question when your interviewer said $79 for the class she meant not each class she meant the entire program, so for a 4-week class she charge $79 for the entire course
My flex classes are bringing in constant income and I am excited to expand on them more
That's awesome Rachel!

What made you say you didn't like outschool? if you don't mind me asking? I'm just looking for the cons of outschool 😔

Superhelpful, sis. I'm getting it together. I've got so many balls in the air right now.
This is what I want. These online companies are so unstable and it’s stressful always worrying about money.

what about the oppression, the
bureaceacy, the politics, the back stabbing
Awesome interview! I learned a lot. Will definitely be in contact with Teacher Jade regarding flex classes!
Did you get your flex classes listed?
This was such a valuable interview. Thanks for this. After watching, I feel a bit more confident creating my first flex class.
Have you checked out Outschool’s new FLEX policy? It’s going to make listing classes easier.

That’s a good question. Following.
$79/learner for four 40 minute classes.
She's not suppose to share anything like facebook because it takes the students off Outschool platform. I can check but I am pretty sure.
What's LMS?
I'm sure you probably got your answer, but for others, LMS is Learning Management System (like Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, etc.)
