A very heartwarming and memorable video that touched me. Thank you for posting our best loved and treasured Liverpool comic that never left his roots and made so many hearts rejoice with his unforgettable warmth humour
Thank you so much for putting this online Paul. Iv'e blubbed through most of it and that probably would not have made Sir Ken happy. I have seen Sir Kens live shows eight times over the years and he just cannot be replaced. He was the Jewel in the Crown of British comedy. Who is going to sort out my chuckle muscles now. I had so much hoped to see him again. He always left me feeling truly plumptious. Liverpool you have lost one of your greatest heros. RIP Sir Ken.
This is the saddest thing of all time. He was absolutely beloved by millions such as me who feel as if they have lost a dear, close friend. The world will never be quite the same again.
scenes like this make me very proud to be a scouser the way the people come together. I remember seeing ken in old swan Liverpool he said hello to me and my partner I said to my partner I know his face who is it ,he said ken dodd ,there was no heirs and graces from ken he didn't forget his roots that's why the people of Liverpool loved him rest in peace ken we are so proud of you sir ken you were a legend.
Thankyou Ken. Thankyou you giving us the Pleasure and Joy of Allowing us to spend the time in your company on this Earth. I’m not saying goodbye no, I’ll just say, “See You Later.”.
Max Miller said 'When i am dead and gone, there'll never be another - same with Sir Ken Dodd but this era we living in is so much different than Sir Ken's
Sir Ken Dodd always loved an audience I really don't think he would mind an audience even in death goodbye Mr laughter I was one of the lucky ones to have seen you live 😃💟😃
I agree. I did stay back and give respect but I think leaving his home for the last time was very important to capture. I did notice some running after him but that’s going to far.
Ken Dodd the ultimate Court Jester an amazing Comedy act that will never be seen again. He believed in Jesus Christ Christians will see him again in the Kingdom of Heaven. Thanks Be To God ✝️
i will never forget crew.theater a t couldn't afford price ..he said do not worry will take whatever u can pay ,, big star ..big money .. he never considered such
I found it very disrespectful when the media surrounded the hearse and were taking a lot of photo's, they needed to show some respect towards the family and friends of Sir Ken Dodd.
Hi, I created an account to make this reply, though I meant to join RUclips at some point..... I was in the cortege and was sitting in one of the cars being filmed in the beginning of the video. I know for a flat fact that neither myself or any of the family or friends felt intruded upon. We know that press and fans can be intrusive, but the people of Liverpool know that also and the whole occasion and the grim weeks preceding it was marked by deep respect for Ken which we all felt most keenly. It was very moving to see the lines of people clapping as the cortege rolled along after the horse drawn hearse, we felt the love. Thank you to all who came, or wanted to come and also those who stayed away thinking it best to give the family space. This was both Ken's final journey and final public appearance, I know he would have wanted to share that with the people of Liverpool.
Thank you for your kind words. As for my loss, I will miss Ken, but frankly it hasn't sunk in yet. Though to be fair he did so much in his life that while he fully intended to continue on had he recovered nobody can say he left anything undone or unsaid. His life was complete, I do not feel for a moment that his life was in any way wasted. Furthermore he had prepared his way forward, not that Ken showed any concern for his mortality, he was too busy living. Nevertheless Ken was very clear with regards to his Christian beliefs, which he put into practice, he was a genuinely humble and pious man and is now with his God, and knowing that takes the sting out of his passing.
+paul frost I just wondered if you could do me a copy if possible. My parents and I are huge fans. And are gutted that we missed it. We just couldn't find it. Until we discovered it was on the other side. When we changed channel the funeral was over.
when leaving flowers, can we start to remove the plastic first? All people see is the plastic wrapper and this will no doubt end up in the sea at some point...
I'm sure dicky mint will look after Kenny doddys financial situation now he has gone, but a tough act to follow auld Ken was good with figures, it takes a good one to pull the wool over the taxmans eyes and ears
Now, why would a Woman marry a Man 48 hours before he dies? Oh i know why, for his Inheritance Now watch the family home come on the market for sale in about 2-3 years time This all sounds very familiar to me and my family for some Strange reason!

The best. Sadly, missed out on seeing him live (here in Sheffield) Sept 2016. Had a feeling I'd never get another chance.
Tears of sadness, but more of happiness, make them laugh in Heaven Ken.

Miss you ❤️
the horse and carriage sight and sound is really nice to see. rather than an hearse. r.i.p.
I found it very disrespectful when the media surrounded the hearse and were taking a lot of photo's, they needed to show some respect towards the family and friends of Sir Ken Dodd.
It was a bit yes. There were a couple of hundred not just media. I am pretty local to the area and would not of missed it for the world tbh.
Me too .

Nerdy Tom R.I.P Sir Ken Dodd, he'll always be in our hearts, also if you was family member or a friend of Sir Ken Dodd I'm sorry for your lose

He would've loved the turn-out and would probably have said "How tickled I am!"
By jove,what a beautiful day
Paul I missed this. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me how I can get a DVD copy. thanks.
Don’t think there is one.
+paul frost I just wondered if you could do me a copy if possible. My parents and I are huge fans. And are gutted that we missed it. We just couldn't find it. Until we discovered it was on the other side. When we changed channel the funeral was over.
What channel was it on, i had sky news on but the sound went faulty. would like to see if its on catch up so i can see the service
+paul frost There is only about 2mins on Sky catch up. Channel 5 did the funeral. But there's no catch up available to C5 news
Thanx. I have a lot of footage from all the news feeds from the day on tv, sky, bbc, itv etc I just would of like the full service from inside.
Some say that the funeral ran overtime.
Looking back, I think it actually did, which is rather appropriate, and as usual nobody minded much.
He always ran overtime because people loved him so much.
R.I.P SIR DODD 😿😿😿🙀🙀🙀
Nice to see Dickie Mint there.
R.I.P Sir Dodd
when leaving flowers, can we start to remove the plastic first? All people see is the plastic wrapper and this will no doubt end up in the sea at some point...
Great vid, I was there
There were two coffins in this video. Did he die twice?
The bloke on top of the hearse looked quite comical himself
Ken seemed to be a middle aged bloke when I was a kid. Sad to think most of his original audience predeceased him.
He outlived so many comedians around his age.
Thgey gage Doddy a reet good send Off. Hope there were Jam butties served at the Luncheon
What happened to dicky mint?
i heard h was buried with him but am not 100% sure
What will happen to the Diddy Men?
I'm sure dicky mint will look after Kenny doddys financial situation now he has gone, but a tough act to follow auld Ken was good with figures, it takes a good one to pull the wool over the taxmans eyes and ears
His last Sell Out Gig.
Don't quite get why RAF saluted.
As a form of respect, Debbie.
As they were providing the honour guard, the senior officer saluted.
It was the local Air Training Corps unit which Doddy had been supportive of.
Also he was a Knight of the realm and a freeman of the city of Liverpool
Press have no respect
