Couple things…I LOL when Flo wiped the garlic press on the bag (cause I knew she was going to do that instead of dirtying another utensil and being bothered!) and when Dude offered a literal “hand!” AND, I stopped your video to online shop my local butcher to see if they have pork belly (they DO!). Another wonderful Sunday afternoon video and yummy recipe! TFS, Sharon 🤗❤️😊

Thank you Flo! I made your version of bbq pork and it was the toast of my wife birthday party. Everyone, everyone, said it was the best bbq pork they ever tasted. In That’ it’s called moo dang… meaning red meat bbq. Mine ( yours) is called ‘moo dang without the ‘dang’.
You are my new favorite chef. I will try every recipe you come up with.
Also, do you have a sister with the same last name on another great food channel? Lmk

Just got back from a trip to Kuala Lumpur, knowing I was going there I made this and when there I tried some during a visit to Petaling street, I have to say you have got it bang on. I know it wasn't exactly a back to back test but what I make at home ( thanks to your good selves ) is every bit as good as the Char Siu I tried in Malaysia. Your amazing Flo, I can't thank you and the Dude enough for doing your thing. Bless you both.

Thanks for the Char Siu recipe. I marinated pork belly strips overnight them steamed them for about two hours. I used a regular pot with a lid. The finished product was satisfying. Next batch I will add fermented tofu, because I missed the radish color Char Siu has when purchased in a restaurant. And while the pork belly was truly yummy, it was a bit too fatty.

Don't use sherry in place of rice wine! Apple cider vinegar or a squeeze of lemon is better. Acid is important to balance the salty sauces and sesame oil.
