Want more deep dives? Try this one on all the #ServiceNow table names for group, user, roles, and their relationships: ruclips.net/video/bQTkB4M3zRg/видео.html Or this one on using approval subflows in Flow Designer: ruclips.net/video/nqKAQg9hZUI/видео.html
Thank you for the video. I don't like how SN returns so many results when I do search in Application navigator and it seems to be impossible to narrow them down intelligently via keyboard.
FYI - If you type "users " with the space, it will only show you the Users, Groups and Roles modules without all the noise. But yes, navigation in snow leaves a lot to be desired.
It seems that left nav will be short lived as the direction appears to be having a workspace for everything...... The easter egg has more places to search now days
I can't imagine workspaces getting that kind of scale. Original ServiceNow scaled because ANYONE could build with forms, list views, dashboards, and reports. The means of building Workspaces has made doing so far outside the skillset of most customers. "Oh but you could just spend another $100k building one Workspace from a vendor who needs a BA, EM, PM, Arch, 2 devs and 2 BA's to roll out a single page" (that won't be documented)
We will keep the left nav construct for a long time to come given adoption by customers. Workspaces are the future - but not the only one. And the future of Workspaces will continue to evolve. :)
So, as an Admin, I want to create my own navigation menu, separate from favourites. But I don't want other Admins seeing it. As you pointed out, adding 'admin' to the hidden roles will hide it from them and me. Even if I have the Visible Roles set to a bespoke role I have. Do you have a workaround for this by any chance? Also, I'm finding that modules you add must be on the top layer of an application menu or they will not show. e.g. "System Logs > System Log > All" cannot be added, as it's two layers deep. I've found myself duplicating the modules and putting them in an Admin application which is less than ideal. Any suggestions around that would also be appreciated.
If its something you want for ONLY you, and not others of your role, then that's what Favorites are for. I'd build a separate collapsible section in my Favorites for admin stuff. Probably faster to make too.

It's incredible how you managed to make a SN video entertaining to watch, and informative haha. Well done.
My aesthetic is "if I don't want to watch it, why would my audience". But thanks for taking the time to say so. It means a lot.
I love it, entertaining, short and concise! Thanks, Robert!
That means extra coming from you!
