Thanks for bringing this stuff to life. It sounds like it could have been written by a novelty songwriter from 1950! Seeing the timeless human side of history always makes one realize how applicable it's lessons are likely to be. It is easy to think of ourselves as being immune to the possibility of being ground up in the grist-mill of tragic events or societal delusions... but songs like this make it clear that regular old people are swept up too!
If it's true that history is written by the victors, it's also true that The Cause can be kept alive by song. This one was well-done - has a raw sound, like soldiers marching. As one branch of my family came to New England in 1620 and another to Boston in 1635, their sentiments would've been on the other side. Compliments to The City Waites.

He made some terrible mistakes which perhaps weren't even deliberate but it is the root of England's problems and the world's problems in the 21st century. I am of course referring to his reversal of the events of 1290.
