  • It's time to look at the anatomy of the stomach. What other structures and organs are nearby, what's its blood supply, where does the venous blood drain to, what does it do? Can you live without your stomach? What happens in stomach stapling or gastric bypass surgery?

Bless you! Your videos are now exclusively the ones I watch if I need any clarification; they're somehow detailed enough for grad school but not so detailed that you get lost in the weeds. Plus, I feel like you teach to help students learn, not to show your knowledge, and that's what makes you great!

This reminds me of the water supply that used to come in a stomach container. Probably a cow or buffalo. The carrier slung it, hanging from one shoulder and carried upstairs, for the tenants of the multi storied buildings.

Hey Dr. Webster. First, thank you for all the great videos-- thorough, entertaining and easy to understand.
I'm hoping you can answer a somewhat obscure question for me: How many parietal cells are in the typical human stomach?
I'm making a video for lay people about blood, and I'm using parietal cells as an example of the numbers of cells that must be served by the circulatory system. And I just can't seem to find that info anyplace.

Hi Sam. Love all your vids. Can you please do a short vid explaining how as a man I am told I have a mid riff packed full of muscle, organs and intestines yet women also have their "baby making machines" + the fact that they also make room for the actual baby. It's quite mind boggling.
    Thanks in advance

I enjoyed this video just like I enjoy every video! The way you give so much information in such a short time...speechless! But I wanted the muscle layer explanation! Because I really get you a lot, mostly attributing to the fact that I am studying in Russian language and your videos keep my brain updated on the English translation. Thank you so much
