Loved the book, but was a bit suspicious about the movie: how could they turn this very internal story where very little happens into a film? Most of it happens in Bill Furlong’s head and he doesn’t vocalize it. But the movie is even better than the book imo. It is every bit as subtle and quiet and minimalist as the book, but Cillian’s performance enables you see what Bill is thinking and feeling with very little words or gestures. It’s the kind of masterful performance you don’t see often. Maybe even better than in Oppenheimer.
Beautiful movie and his performance is out of this world! One of the best actors of our time!
Small things like these in theaters NOW!!
