People have vacations their own way. Japan for example has a lot of food that is “exotic” for lack of a better word, so you can expect everyone to want to try everything. Shopping too. Japan has a unique aesthetic and lot of people seek out. Maybe she just cared to take home pieces of fashion. Also scenic and sightseeing spots in Tokyo are far and few between. Most people go to places more farther in the country of Japan for scenic stuff. You sound a bit judge mental, but this is just how a trip in a big city is usually like.
