I am so thankful for your channel!! A year ago my family adopted a 14 yr old sister for us from Columbia in South America and since we all had relatively straight and fine hair, I knew I needed to find better ways to help her take care of her hair (nobody ever taught her how) so up until now I'd been buying her Shea Moisture brand because I didn't know what else I could do, and a coworker told me it was good for natural hair. The techniques you show are so helpful...I had no clue! I don't know if she's open to trying organic hair washes like this (although I am), but I plan on showing her these videos as soon as possible. She loves her long hair, and it got so tangled these last few days (she's been too sick to care for herself) that she thought we would cut it off like her foster mom did, and I would do anything for this girl so I spent a couple hrs carefully detangling it instead. Your videos will help so much!!
I did this today after I took down my braids and my hair has never looked better. I was freaking out so much lol, even my curl pattern looked bouncier and happier and smoother and this is all your fault, so THANK YOU!!!!
Hey,I just wanted to let you know that I followed your steps on my hair and my daughters hair and the results were amazing. My daughter hates to have her hair washed and at three with just about tye same amout of hair you have I understand. But last night while washing at the sink she fell asleep from all the massaging and all her tangles just melted away. Thank you so much for videos!
Let me first say thank you, thank you, thank you for showing me to section the hair before washing. This technique alone has save me a ton of grief detangling my daughters hair. This time around I tried your entire washing routine (minus a few ingredients, but I'll get there) on her hair and what a difference in the feeling. Very moist, soft and manageable. I'm never happy doing her hair and she isn't either, but this time we both enjoyed the process!
***** Hey Whitney!! I just finished doing this method and seriously, WOW!!!!!! My hair has never been this soft and manageable on wash day. The ACV rinse along with the Mayo DC did wonders in strengthen my hair [way less fall out than usual]. I also noticed that my curls were perfectly detangled and was actually hanging down instead of sticking up while wet. Oh, the oil under the water is such a great idea to seal in all the moisture without a greasy mess on everything you rest your head on! Oh Whitney, yet again you manage to save me from my own mistakes. You have no idea how thankful I am for you being here. Thank you so much
I know this is an older video but I noticed such a big difference in my scalp and my hair. I didn't have the hair mud but I had everything else and I was able to give my scalp relief from buildup. This is going to be my new hair care routine.
I just tried your natural hair wash method. And I love it, my hair feels just as clean as when I use shampoo. This is my new wash method from now on, my hair has never felt so soft and moisturized after washing. I usually have to use a good amount of leave in conditioner and oil. Thanks Whitney!!!
I've had natural hair all my life just like yours but way shorter. But when I saw what u were using to take care of yours compared to what I use to take care of mine, I was like "THATS WHY" thank u so much without your tutorials my hair would look dry and jacked up ; )
I'm obsessed with natural hair videos I watch thousands of them and am very familiar with a lot of the naturals and out of all of them I have to say that your hair is the most beautiful. The texture ... The thickness ... Perfectly beautiful x
I just followed this tutorial yesterday (with a few tweaks as I didn't have the clay cleanser and my hair is too short to wash in sections). I love the results. My hair is sooooo soft. Thanks *****
I followed the wash routine and my hair felt like baby hair. So soft and moisturized! I love, love, love the mud wash; which was not difficult to make and not messy when used the hair color bottle. Thank you so much for the mud was recipe and all of your videos. They are truly helpful and on point!
I 125% agree with you, that is why Naptural 85 is one of the best and most enduring naturals on the Tube! She gets to the point and still makes it fun, interesting and informative.
just wanted to say congrats!!! I saw you in the May 2013 issue of Glamor!!! ive been a sub since the beginning of my big chop! you truly have helped and encourage me! 2years and counting for me!!
Not sure if you're already doing this, but you might actually need to turn off the water while you're shampooing. I wash in sections and I turn the water off and on as needed, otherwise my hot water would probably run out halfway through.
I definitely have a preference for colder showers during the summer months, but not running water (even during the summer) is just as much about conservation as it is about saving the hot water for when I really need it (my house gets REALLY cold come winter). I do think that rinsing conditioner with cold water helps close the cuticle though.
OMG! I just wanna say thank you for this video... My hair has been in a drought and I felt like everything I did wasn't working. But after I tried your method of washing, ohhh myyy wordddd, my hair is on a wholeeeee different level, NO JOKE! Thank you sooo much for sharing this with us, I know it saved me from cutting off my hair :) You're a God sent!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm growing my hair out this year and was about to give up because my hair seemed so dry and mushy and matted (probably from a product that my hair didn't like). I thought I was going to cut my hair and start over. This regimen brought my hair back to life.
Thank you...so, so, so much!!! My hair is now arm pit length { your tips helped me arrive there} but the tangling has gotten to me-was considering a light blow out to cope. I keep my hair in bantu knots, an up swept bun or twists mostly. The new shampoo routine has saved me from succumbing to heat. You are a blessing, Dear Nap!!
This tutorial made Me save soooo much time washing my hair !!!!! I started washing my hair in sections about 3 months ago and i love it :) thanks for the video it's really helpful
I love your voice and your videos! I've been transitioning to natural hair. My hair is a few inches past my shoulders and half natural-half relaxed. I struggle with dryness and breakage. Im going to try this! Thanks for sharing your "secrets". Sometimes I feel like girls keep it a secret how they keep their natural hair healthy, lol.
I've said this before but (to me) your videos are EXTRA enjoyable because they are concise, clear and to the point. You don't blab on and on in a semi dark bathroom. Not to be mean but some natural hair gurus tend to do that and I get bored sitting through extra long videos. Sorry sistas. Your videos are as professional as you can get and that is wonderful. Thank you so much. I need to subscribe again on this new account of mine!
I tried this routine for the first time yesterday. UGH!! It took me forever but I'm glad I did it. My scalp feels clean and my hair feels thoroughly moisturized and it looks great. I even got a compliment on it today actually. Thank you Whitney!
I just want to thank you for all of these videos. Of all the youtubing and googling I have done these past (several) weeks you have been the most helpful by far. I've already started using the hair and body oil and really really like it. Some sections of my hair have an extremely tight, distinct curl pattern and others are just fuzz central. So seeing someone with such thick kinky hair (with a husband and a baby) who is managing such fantastic hair care is a real encouragement :)
Made the wash the other day, and ohh my, I lovvvee it! I added a little lavender and few drops of tea tree oil, followed your wash day routine, and my hair is very soft and still smells amazing. Thanks again Whit for always making great vids!
I've recently decided to go natural, and am currently going on my 6th month during my transition. I have had nothing but braids so far the entire time, and washing my hair yesterday was the biggest battle I've ever had. Probably should have looked for this video BEFORE washing my hair, maybe then the detangling wouldn't have been a painful nightmare. Definitely remembering to try this out.
I love these video and so does my daughter, I adopted my daughter when she was 5, she is 10 now and we are always trying new things with her hair. She is tired of it being braided all the time and your videos have saved us. Today, we took out her first twist out. She loves it! I think it's a little frizzy. But I'm not telling her that. I will just keep trying your tips. Thanks!
I just want to say THANK YOU! I've been transitioning for about 5 months and for the past month my hair was getting soooo tingled and would break sooo much when I would wash it! Well, I used your hairwash routine 3 days ago and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! My hair did still shed a lot while washing it (need to figure out want to do about that) but detingling was a breeze! And braiding it afterwards? Minimal shedding/breaking. Just now re-braided my braid-outs and still NO SHEDDING! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Love the fact that you explain the importance of having sharp cleaned nails before the wash... now I even remove the nail polish because for some reason while I shower, the nail polish chips and get stuck on my hair, sometimes even cut it (I need a good DIY nail tutorial) lol...
Wow! You are amazing when it comes to hair. I love how you make your hair products and not send all you money buying products. I am the same and I love your hair recipes straight from the kitchen.
Literally watched this video about 3 days before I washed my hair, and now I have to come back just to say THANK YOU! I usually just wash my hair as is (instead of dividing in 4 sections) and I end up with a really bad detangling process. Although dividing in sections takes more time for me, I definitely think it's worth it! Now if only I can conquer breakage! Lol
I just stumbled across your mayo conditioner vid from a couple of years ago. Your hair has gotten so long! It looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I was so excited to c u n Glamour!!!!! I always enjoy learning how u maintain ur hair. I have adopted ur wash routine. It keeps my hair clean an manageable
I love ALL of your videos Whit!!! Thanks so much for all these wonderful tutorials :) 9 months into my natural journey and six months from my BC and I feel very encouraged!
Omg! I love this!!! Thank you ssssoo much for sharing your beautiful hair secrets with us! My hair is on the path to recovery thanks to you and it's not hurting my pocket one bit!!
I need videos like these to keep me motivated while I'm transitioning. I mean, look at that beautiful hair and those curls! I want mine to be like this.
I have to say that I tried this routine again for the second time ( I used conditioner instead of the clay wash, though) and I have never had such success with cleansing and detangling my hair as I have with this. I have very thick, 4C hair and always have the worse time washing and detangling. There wasn't nearly as much shedding as I normally have and my hair felt great afterwards. Thanks again!
Yes, it does really cleanse your hair and scalp. ACV helps balance pH levels which kills and discourage fungi from growing. The ACV rinse/wash is actually one of the recommended for treatment for fungus.
I SO want my hair that long! I'll try this is weekend. when my hair is wet I have like 70% shrinkage, so it will be interesting to try and twist my incredible shrinking hair. Your daughter is so precious!
I just recently went all natural after having a perm for as long as I can remember. I was starting to regret the decision because I had no idea how to take care of my natural hair. By the time I got to this video my hair was "hay" dry and fizzy and I hated it. I followed the instructions in this video step my step. I LOVE MY HAIR NOW. I know it's going to take regular maintenance to get it where it will be totally healthy but with just one wash what a difference. I highly encourage others to try it.
Thanks, Naptural85. This is good stuff. I find that my hair is getting harder to keep moisturized as it grows longer too. Right now it's just past my shoulders, and finding ways to keep it moist is a challenge.
Thank you sooooo much Nap! I can't believe in my 25 years of age, I never knew how to wash my hair correctly. But now I do. Thanks to you Nap!! Much love!! ♡♥
I have had my hair natural for just over 2 yrs now and its past shoulder length. I used to wash the whole thing at once and come out with bunches of hair...since I tried this method I come out of the shower with very little hair shed and so who cares if there is oil on the shower floor.....Spray with Kaboom and rinse right after ...poof! oil is gone..... Also just want to say thanks to Naptural85 for these posts...learnt so much about what I can do with my hair...
Thanks, I'll definitely try that! :) Ha after a lot of time looking at natural hair channels on RUclips, I was so happy to find your videos...I was like, "YASSSS finally someone who understands my life!" lol your channel is so helpful - thanks for all the time and energy you put into keeping it going!
You are such an inspiration, love your videos, and I've told so many people to look you up. Your hair is gorgeous, me and my daughter made your homemade shea butter mixture over the Christmas period. Olivia is adorable.
OMG *****, I think you just saved my hair tonight! My hair went from dry, almost damaged feeling to soft, clumped and plumped! You da boss girl! My only concern is if my hair will dry all the way through tonight, or if this regimen is better reserved for in the daytime (on a weekend) so my hair can air dry completely before I take it out during the weekday. But either way I am so so overjoyed with how my hair felt! Thank youuuu!
I have loved looking at your videos over the years and enjoyed watching every video and your hair growth, you have inspired me to go natural when i did not know what to do with my hair anymore i went in my bathroom with a pair of scissors and cut it all off, yes i did! i am enjoying my growth and i thank you for the inspiration!
I am so thankful for your channel!! +tebbydear90 God bless your family.
well seems to you did not spell it right
Ai'ina Gila She was talking about the country Colombia, she was right but could've said it more politely.
tebbydear90 how nice of you guys she's lucky to have such nice adopters
I don't know how I ended up here, but you have gorgeous hair!!
this comment made my whole day HAHAAHHA
LOL
True that
I did this today after I took down my braids and my hair has never looked better. I was freaking out so much lol, even my curl pattern looked bouncier and happier and smoother and this is all your fault, so THANK YOU!!!!
All your fault or all thanks to?
Lol, thanks to her.

You literally have the best tips in the world for natural hair. I love how you always give detailed descriptions of every process. You're the best:)
My hair used to be horrible and damaged now I used this remedy for a year now my hair is so long thanks
I just tried your natural hair wash method. And I love it, my hair feels just as clean as when I use shampoo. This is my new wash method from now on, my hair has never felt so soft and moisturized after washing. I usually have to use a good amount of leave in conditioner and oil. Thanks Whitney!!!

She's divorced now. Now's your chance!
I'm OBSESSED with her! So cool, collective and brilliant when speaking on natural hair care!
I just followed this tutorial yesterday (with a few tweaks as I didn't have the clay cleanser and my hair is too short to wash in sections). I love the results. My hair is sooooo soft. Thanks *****

She should return to this routine. Maybe it will help her problems.
Jimmy Terry I was just thinking that. Her hair was SO thick here
It'll take a while because her hair was damaged.
I 125% agree with you, that is why Naptural 85 is one of the best and most enduring naturals on the Tube! She gets to the point and still makes it fun, interesting and informative.
Noticed your hair in the sidebar. Oh my god! I want your hair! ♥

Does anyone know if this method would be good on low porosity hair?
+Stephanie S Hey I just saw your post and I use this method and yes it workers very well.
Ok great. Thanks for responding Cóyana
I think she has low porosity hair

She is so lucky she has all that hair!!!
Lots of hair comes with lots of work. Be happy with what you have.
+Cindy99765 I am happy wit ma hair but I put a lot of work into it and no success.
+Akeliah White Try wearing braids or twists instead to give your natural hair a break, and have a change for awhile.

Talk about all natural, wow! you have inspired me to use more natural ingredients in my hair! thank you lovely lady!
I need videos like these to keep me motivated while I'm transitioning. I mean, look at that beautiful hair and those curls! I want mine to be like this.
Im so mesmerized by watching you wash your hair!
I can't wait until Olivia's hair starts to grow out and maybe you can do videos on her hair regimen and tell us the styles you do on her hair!
your hair is literally growing and GROWING with each video and i dont think it's gonna stop! haha it's crazy and i love it!
I tried this last week and my hair felt so good it felt thicker and looked healthier thank you. I am hooked in your videos they are si helpful
You have by far the best hair on RUclips, its so fluffy ....Your hair has grown so much, washing it looks like work lol. thanks for sharing
I just recently went all natural after having a perm for as long as I can remember. I was starting to regret the decision because I had no idea how to take care of my natural hair. I could watch your videos ALL day long, I LOVE them!
Thanks, Naptural85. This is good stuff. I find that my hair is getting harder to keep moisturized as it grows longer too. Right now it's just past my shoulders, and finding ways to keep it moist is a challenge.

You are such an inspiration, love your videos, and I've told so many people to look you up. Your hair is gorgeous, me and my daughter made your homemade shea butter mixture over the Christmas period. Olivia is adorable.
My daughter's hair is thick and the longer it gets, the more intimidated *I* get! This makes it seem totally doable! Thanks for sharing!
That's what I did. Cool. the mayo makes the hair soft/curly and ACV can also get rid of dandruff as well.

"HEY WHAT THE...alright you can stay" LOL you're too cute!! Your hair gives me life!
