As soon as I saw your intro I knew you were my kind of girl! I’m mainly a garment sewer but I do most of my own home repairs/maintenance and have been known to build things now and again. :-) Thanks for the great video - off to line my baskets!
I have a question. When you go to make the corner cuts, you say to subtract and divide by two. Does the dimension you are using for he one number include the 8 extra inches you added. For example the long side on mine is 28", but with the addition of the 8 its then 36". When I go to calculate the =cutouts for the corner am I using the 29" number or the 36" number. By the way, thanks for this video. Seems so simple. I think I'm having trouble because of operator error!
Hey Lynne, its been awhile since I filmed this video, but I watched it and I think you do need to use the measurements with the extra 8". I think that was the seam allowance and room for the drawstring and the little bit that folds over the outside of the basket. So yes, use the measurements with the extra 8" on both length and width. I hope that helps!
In that case, I'd measure from the center bottom of whatever you're lining, to the outer most edge. Then add a 4 inches for drawstring and seam allowance. Cut a piece of string to that measurement. Pin one end of the string to the center of your fabric and the other end to a pen. Pull the string tight and draw a circle (like a compass).
Thanks for the tutorial! I normally just order things like this online, but I couldn’t find one to fit my basket. This looks quick and easy!

You made the process of making a basket liner look so easy! Thank You😊
Great tutorial. Going to make one!

Hey, I have the same basket from ikea. Do you know the measurements you used? thanks :)
Sorry, this was a while ago and I threw away my pattern. Just remember to measure the largest parts of the basket and allow for seams.
Clever idea!
Hans de Groot Thank you! Making it for my bicycle basket.
I want a round liner

Too much math. It drove me crazy. I have a square basket. 12" x 12". Please make it easier.
