For those receiving slightly different items than what the video shows, the crimping sleeve is now a solder stick which requires a heat gun. It is pretty simple to connect but just an FYI that you need this in order to install. Also, the OEM fuse you pull out needs to be plugged into the add-a-fuse connector BUT it will not fit newer years since they use the shorty fuses where the adaptor requires the full size fuses. Again, this isn't covered in the video or the site so it was a 'gotcha' when trying to install. The fuse cover will not fit back on after you add this kit. Look up 'Dr.KDSS' who sells a fuse box cover so you can have some protection over the fuses.
@@enazim1 the oem fuses are now low profile fuses. You just need to buy a regular 10 amp fuse and it will fit in the add-a-fuse. The kit comes with the correct fuse so you can reference it to buy the second one needed. I have a 22’ pro and it worked fine.

@@ryansullivan4168 did you do any unnecessary routing of the harness that caused you to run out of slack? I don’t have that issue but perhaps you were sent something in error. I have a 22’ which uses shorty fuses and it worked for me. Hope they can help you!

My girlfriend got me these lights for my birthday. Trying to install is awful. Y’all didn’t include in any instructions or on the website that I’d have to use a heat gun to join the wires so I crimped them and broke the connector. (I don’t know anything about electrical) then it didn’t come with a second fuse in the adapter so I’ll have to go get that. Either include everything you need to install or be up front about what’s needed. Turned a 30-45 minute install into a couple hours.
That is our Stealth grille that used to come with lettering, sadly Toyota Came after us and we are no longer able to sell grilles that have lettering we do still have the same grille just without letters on our site "Stealth Grille"
just received my 4 light for my 23 limited , lights went in great, the included harness red power wire is woefully short. I went the shortest route snugged and it does not reach the inside fuse box at the tail its about 5 inches short and it is pulled tight,
we should note that the upper mesh piece does need to be swapped to the pro grill style like in this video the factory grill was swapped to the heritage grill
Is the raptor light running only if the headlight is on? It looks like mine does not turn on during daytime with Auto light mode in my 23 4R TRD Pro... but seeing other 4R raptor light running with DRL during the day makes me wonder what's going on...

I ran my fuse to the 3rd slot down, “IGN” & the lights were on whenever the engine was running. The LEDs started burning out 1 by 1 after only 6 months. Eventually the remaining ones started flashing!! I have been sent 2 replacement kits, each slightly different than the first kit. This latest one has a blue 15 fuse. I guess I will find a 15 slot & try plugging into that. Really wondering if I should just get the local truck shop to do it for me.

Got a question about fuses... I don't understand anything on it but if my lights have a 5 & 10amp instead of the 2 10amps, do I still aim for a 10amp fuse?
You technically can but It will require some funny business. The one in this video is a 2021 and the upper mesh grille piece fits but technically it doesn't interface with all the same mounting points, and it doesn't allow you to reattach the upper center bar the same way the factory ones do.
@@mbh427 its really not that bad we just like to make it as straight forward as possible since many people don't like needing to do anything differently than the OEM set up. Sales@4runnerlifestyle.com will get you direct with our guys Andrew and Truman (who do these installs) and I can help as well since we do have a 2021 here (the one in the video) with that radar cruise control and we can show you the work arounds to make it work! :)
Thats really odd, we haven't encountered this issue. The tail lights should still work possibly you have a faulty fuse? we have a team that helps with this sort of thing, they can be reached sales@4Runnerlifestyle.com
So the video doesn’t mention that you need to plug in the fuse you take out, to the add-a-fuse. Also the 2023 4Runner fuse isn’t compatible with the add-a-fuse given. So I had to buy a 10 A fuse from autozone and place it in to make it work.
It can however we still recommend running to the one on the interior. In the case of running it to the engine bay fuse box you could run it to the INJ fuse position in theory.

I am trying to install the Raptor 4 light set up on a 2022 TRD Off Road. I am not able to get the wiring through the firewall. I have pulled the grommet and the wires are so flexible that they won't go. Is there a way I can hook up to the fuse box under the hood next to the battery??
I just installed 3 light on my 2024 TRD Pro, the wire barely made it, I can't run it to the side of battery, and it is really hard to remove fuse!!wtf!!!
My cord ended up being short and does not reach all the way around the fuse box and battery, literally just have the cord laying over the top of everything cause it won’t reach

They're called Fang Lights. They have the single light and a triple light version. The hardest part of the install was taking apart the entire front grill and bumper
Say all the sudden a major electrical issue goes wrong in your 4-Runner. Does having these lights installed automatically give the dealer the option of taking a big dump on your warranty and charging you full cost for repair?

I have everything wired, i accidentally ruined my first fuse connector so i went and bought .22 18 gauge connectors and now i cant get anything to turn on. Also when i plug the fuse into the fuse box all that happens is i lose my tail lights and no raptor lights turn on. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thats a great point! In our case it doesn't go back on, however there are alternate low profile ad a fuse options out there from autoparts stores that might allow you to install and still close the cover but we can't confirm that just yet since we havn't tried them out just yet.
can't get anybody to respond from 4Runner Lifestyle. I bought a bracket for my Maxtrax to mount to my truck, 3 weeks ago. They took my money (Over $400) but wont tell me when it will ship. I have emailed them several times and I have not received any emails back, except the ads they flood my inbox with. They don't have a phone number, and when you do contact them by email, you get a reply saying not to keep emailing them and they will get back to you when they can. It shouldn't be this hard to do business with a company unless it's by design. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.
I feel you. That's why I shop parts from the original manufacturer/dealer. I stay away from small businesses or third party sellers as much as I can esp. if it requires shipping. Hope you get your part(s) soon.
Damn! As a tech/mechanic, it severely bugs me how Mickey mouse the wiring is. At least stagger the wiring to connector length per light🤦🏾♂️. Too hackish for me.

Not in my experience. I installed some rear pillar lights on July 4th and was missing the adapters for the brake lights. I texted the number and they got back to me in less than an hour. I sent pics of what I received and they immediately started to make another order for me. I thought I'd just receive the adapter plugs but they sent an entirely new kit out, free of charge. I wasn't expecting to hear back until after the holiday weekend but I was able to finish my install before the next weekend

It’s from TSO (Trail Standard Off-road). They are about $85 for 3D printed lettering and sticky tape.

you can use a lighter for those types of connections, you don’t need a heat gun

Take the 10a fuse out of the fuse block where you are plugging into and it add to the add a fuse.

For my 2017 sr5, can i put it in my main fuze box or does it need to go behind the firewall down to the lower fuze box by the pedal ?

Well if that happens uninstall them before taking it to dealer 😀

You will have to plug them into a different fuse location if you want them always on when the engine is running
