My mildliners (or pen and gear brand version) chisel end is close to the row size, so I use a ruler across the bottom of the row to get my straight lines without using tape to block it. So far it is working with the tombow marker when I try it, but I seem to be okay with it freehand as well.
I also see my "things that didn't go well/challenges" as a positive by doing the "how to improve or turn around" next to them. It makes it more into learning or a "not giving up u til it is a win" type thing for me. Granted, I am I. Therapy partly for the perfectionist, obsessive, overthinking to the point of anxiety and panic attacks side (seriously had heart tests to make sure it was just panic attacks rather than heart attacks recently) so that is part of my reframing how I look at it. Granted a lot of my super stress was a massive amount of stress piled on my shoulders for the last 2 or 3 years so my body and brain finally said enough, so the reframing is to remove/lower as much of my anxiety and harsh expectations for myself to give me a lower level to deal with for a base line too. But it makes a big difference seeing what I beat myself up over becoming less of a "keep slamming into it harder and harder until it breaks" and more of a "we just need to find another way, reassess".
My Tombow 800 is very pale too.
I'm using this colour on my May setup.
I did a quite "extra" yearly theme last year, so I wanted to go more minimal.
So Google Sheets is picking my colour of Tombow randomly. Each month I'm using only one colour of Tombow and a matching ink on my fountain pen and the exact same style on the pages. So everything fits together nicely
Win win situation for my unused inks and not often used Tombow 😅

the 800 Tombow is simply incredibly light, mine does the same thing and I quite like the subdued color, but also being able to layer it is great as well :)

THIS IS SO CUTE! Oh my goodness I love this. 💛💕💙 I really like the way the vertical calendar looks- I'm interested to see how you use it because I'm on the fence about whether I would use something like that enough to justify a 4 page spread. I mostly put my appointments/scheduled items in my year at a glance and then in my weeklies- but this might be a nice change up to try.

The color 800 is the last Tombow I picked up simply because every time I would swatch it, I could barely see any color payoff. I think it’s supposed to be that way.

Also: to combat pen transfer, what Dots and Beyond does is put a little piece of paper in between pages during set up
