Hi team! 💜 Hope you enjoyed this setup 😄 If there are some collections you're like "why didn't Jess put those in?", they might be in my yearly collections journal! That one has year-long collections for the full year, and you can check out the setup at: ruclips.net/video/rZiaH-XKNbM/видео.html
My very first bullet journal, I wrote the wrong phone number on the name plate. It was one of the first things I did and ended up being a good thing. I was so concerned about messing up but had to get over that very quickly! Now in my 5th year, I am so much less stressed about errors...it is a journal just for me after all!
I actually try to put a big ugly squiggle on one of the first pages of each journal for this exact reason! It's like getting that first mess-up out of the way and then I can relax and just use my journal, lol
I mess up plenty in my journal, but I just find those very-first-page mess ups to be a lil heartbreaking 😝 like the time I dropped my pen face down onto my index, or when I fully smudged my name plate page 🫣 I like to save “big” stuff ups for the first month 😝
@@TarielOfLorien That is a great idea I am going to have to steal! I stress until my first mess up and then am fine after...do it first, on purpose and move on! Thanks!!!
In my first bullet journal, I had all these ideas and beautiful spreads planned, so I was so excited to begin - and I absolutely hated my yearly cover page. Like, the first actual page that I did. I had to put away the journal for a few days and then I was like, well, I've paid for it, might as well use it, and I used it every day since. I needed to get over that perfectionist side of me to actually use it, too.
I can’t explain it, it’s just very therapeutic to watch someone journaling ☺
I'm glad you enjoy it! 💜😄
Shading the grids with Tombow brush pen in light gray (or any light color) is such an awesome style/trick for bujo! Thanks for the idea!
Most welcome! It's very much a go-to for me 😄💜
The washi tape is gorgeous
I love that washi tape! And re: the content of your bujo, the ONLY reason I took it up myself was for the pure pleasure of writing things down and being creative. Organisation etc is just a very happy side effect.
Heck yeah 💪 I got into bullet journaling because I was drawn to the creativity too 😄💜 that add teacher life was hectic so it was a double win with the organisation 🥳
I always love the grey (and light coloured) chart stripes. It helps so much.
Will certainly help me fill it in and readablity in the future! 😝💜
I love this smaller journal. I think I will actually use for traveling so I don't have to take bigger size with me. I can transfer memories to my photo scrapbook and habits and etc. done to my home journal when I get back. It can be used for multiple trips.
I love watching and listening to you. 😊
Aww thanks Becky 😄💜 Using this size for travelling is a great idea, like you said it's more compact than a typical A5! 💪
I haven't used my future log much in the past, but this year I have been using it a ton. I vend at a lot of art-fair-type events and I apply for them well in advance. When I apply for them I pencil them in and then if/when I am accepted I will go over it in ink. I do also use it for regular things, like doctor's appointments, weddings, etc. I like the process of copying everything from the year ahead to the monthly calendar as a good reminder of what's coming up.
“Low key check yourself, Ryder,” killed me 😂😂 I love it
Haha 😂 hope the bujo purists don’t come for me 😝
that tape is gorgeous and works so well as decoration. it's interesting to see an unusual journal size/shape too and how the layouts work on that.
Thanks 😄💜 I do super love this tape, made the decoration so easy, and I agree, I’m looking forward to trying out and sharing a new size 💪
BlueJo! 😂😂😂. I don’t know why I get such a giggle out of that.
You made setting up a travel journal so easy. I Can’t wait to see your ideas for a square journal. Great video!
I'm so excited to hear that you are using a square notebook because that is the type of journal I have decided to use for my next bullet journal. Specifically an 8x8 from archer and olice
I've been using an 8x8 this year, it's really fun!!!
I'll be using an Archer & Olive too, yeah! 😄💪
@@JashiiCorrin I'm using the solar system one I'm very excited but it was a pain getting it.
@@amieparham7657 any tips for spreads? I've only worked in an A5
I'm so pumped to see how you make use of the traveler's size Jess! This is so gorgeous. I'd been planning to use that same PET tape in my NuJo too, we might match a little!
Aww yay, twinning! It's a friggin lovely tape 🥰 Looking forward to seeing how you use it!
I use my future log at the beginning of every month when I transfer things to my monthly calendar, and I add to them throughout the month. My issue atm is my journal is goin to last over a year and I'm not sure whether to extend the future log with a tip in or not. But that's a future me problem to be honest lol. Great video as always Jess, and I love the decor.
I need to get into a better habit of checking in with my future log at the start of each month 👏 Interesting that you're going to have more than a year in your current journal! If it were me, I'd probably be inclined to flip the notebook upside down and have more "start of journal" pages at the back, haha 😂
@@JashiiCorrin oh that's a great idea! I hadn't thought of that, thank you
I check my future log once a month, generally. The only other times I look at it are when I need to write down appointments that are months out.
That is what I hope to tend towards. I'm pretty bad at actually adding stuff to it after the initial setup 😝
I have a bujo that is specifically only for tracking what media I've consumed because I will literally forget if I've seen something. When you've watched "The Conjuring" with lacklustre enthusiasm on four separate occasions, and only realising "Oh come on it IS that movie!" in the laundry scene EACH TIME... you come up with a way to record what you've seen and if you think it's personally worth watching again. Saved me a dozen times over with things Netflix has decided I haven't seen when I definitely have. Everyone has different needs!
Haha 😂 I haven't seen the Conjuring, but that sounds like such a pain! Same happened to me with Contagion 😝
Vintage Jess. This just gave me all the feels and want to totally up my bujo game
This tape is gorgeous 👏 and I still have so much of it left 😝 so it’s definitely going to come back at some point
I don’t use a housework tracker because I do them as I go on a daily basis. But most my vacuuming and dusting and laundry are on weekends
I'm notorious at neglecting household tasks 😝 Hoping that filling in the tracker will give me a boost 💪
@JashiiCorrin if you do 3 tasks every day, then once a week add a new task. Have a deadline that helps too, for example the only day we don’t do anything is Sundays so thats our deadline. Even if I don’t want to do it on the deadline, I still do it so I don’t feel bad on Monday that I didn’t do it then feel the burden the whole next week
This is a great setup - thanks for sharing! I hadn't thought of using a traveler's notebook size but now I'm keen to try. I'm also terrible at housework, but it helps me if I think of it as "household maintenance" so I can focus on lightening the load for my future self (rather than feeling down that as soon as you cross the task off your list it basically has to be put on again...)
I don’t use future log because both my husband and I don’t plan monthly except for appointments and whatever else is a monthly routine which we never forget
That's fair 💪 Vogel and I use a shared Outlook calendar for anything that's related to both of us 💜😄
Love the savings idea
Thanks 😄💜 I’m excited to have it back in my journal 🥳
I'm anxious to see your weekly and monthly pages. I have quit a few travelers journals and I need some ideas. Thanks, you videos have helped me so much!!
Glad they've been helpful! 😄 I've just set up my monthly pages for June and am looking forward to sharing them 💪
Jess: I am avoiding a blue notebook!
Also Jess: I am using a blue theme for my first set up!
Haha 😂 dang it, I can't escape!
this is so exciting! I’m thinking for my new role I’m going to create a bullet journal and was thinking of a travellers! Excited to see your layouts and plans for this journal! ❤
Oh exciting about your new role! 😄💜 Glad you're looking forward to more travelers layouts!
I use my future log mostly for planning vacations about 3 months in advance. And in the later-later part, I usually have wedding invitations, concerts I purchased tickets for, and right now I have the Olympic events I'll go to in Paris in August 2024.
Oh nice! I don’t have anything in my future log right now beyond December 2023 😝
Beautiful and poetic. It is nice to see a different size of journal. Excellent idea 🎉
Thanks! 😄💜 I’m looking forward to giving this new size a try 💪
@@JashiiCorrin Must be both fun and challenging to work with an "unusual" format. Keep on going !!
i was just watching your pen swatches!
Nice! 😄💜 hope you were enjoying them!
Love the videos, but the thing I'm bemused about is where/how to schedule in work commitments ie the day job. Not all work full time Mon to Fri, or shift work, so where is that added in!
PS I love planning, but hate doing the work. Could spend ages on homework or revision timetables when I was at school. These were just deplacement activities - and very effective - which helped me avoid the work!
I use Notes on my iphone for all my monthly and daily log type things, so I haven't been using those spreads in my Bujo. I love having a habit tracker, gratitude log etc, and a general list of to dos
That's fair 👏 I keep my "notes to self" in messenger messages to myself 😝 a bit of an odd system, but it works well for me 😄
@@JashiiCorrin Gotta do what works!
Hi I love your set up. I’m brand new so I was wondering what marker you use when you go down the page sweeping across in rows before you write on page ❤
What a lovely little journal you have set up! I could be tempted for the traveler's size, but I like long bullet sentences and need more real estate for my journaling. If you have the pens out still, could you share what Pitt Artist pen color you are using? (I noticed it first in the 101 things spread). Thank you, Jashii.
That's the S size 247: amzn.to/3M2y9fQ
Indranthene Blue 😄💜
I totally made a savings monopoly and have only used it in January! 🤦🏼♀️ I just completely forget about the yearly pages when I go to journal. 🙈 😬
Lol same 😝 unless I make a super conscious effort to go back to them 😅
I want to create a journal for my sister who is a traveler. I would like to create something where she can put pictures and memories. Do you have a suggestion for layouts?
Hey Jess! Love this set up! I have some tapes from Rongrong that are similar that I’ve been wanting to use in my bujo. I was curious about one thing…. What number was that grey Tombow please?
I went with N89 😄 a nice light warm grey. N95 is my preference for light cool grey though if that suits your stickers better 💪
@@JashiiCorrin Thanks hon! Appreciate it!!!!
The font you use for the titles do you offer it as an digital font? Your handwriting is so nice and I would love to have it as headers in my planner
Thanks! 😄💜 I don’t have it as a font, but it’s based on “Australia script” with some variations
I keep leaving pages open for start-of-journal pages and then not having the time or energy to actually create those pages, so most of the front of my current journal is a blank void T_T Maybe when I switch to a new journal in July I'll only leave space for the pages I actually set up lol (clearly I need a yearly collections journal so that I don't have to stress about it in my everyday bujo)
I've found that previously too 😝 anytime I leave space for "oh I might want to add more collections"....*tumbleweeds* 😂💜
Regarding the "I might forget how to spell my name" - a friend of mine once misspelled her last name on an application and nobody proofread that part, so it went undetected. Now I always triple check my name 😅
Exactly! That kinda thing happens 👏 always pencil first 😛
🅒🅞🅞🅛 i want a TN bujo
No more bluejos 😂😂😂😂
👏 indeed 👏 😂 I’m lowkey sick of them, haha
Who else uses the TN size that you look at for Inspo?
My friend Monica uses a TN ( instagram.com/bibliophilebynight/ ) but otherwise I don't have any creators that I follow that use a Traveler's size specifically 🤔
@@JashiiCorrin following her! I just bought a new tn size for my job
I love the idea of small journals but I hate the idea of having more than one notebook per year.
My handwriting is gigantic so it will probably not work for me since I use one single bujo for tasks and mini entries per day
I've been using a B5 this year, and idk if I'll ever go back to a smaller size! The only problem is that a 160 page journal isn't enough for a full year, but leaves way too much space for just 6 months. First world problems lmao
I'm okay with using multiple journals in a year, but that's also why I have my yearly collections journal for those layouts that I want to use across the whole year without setting up again and again 😅💜
