Great video, you need a cradle on the motor side, it saves the motor and time, eye protection, ear and sun protection. I have had mine for the second season now no problems with it, just run non ethanol and shut the gas valve off let it run out of gas and keep the oil changed, buy a cover for it or store it out of the weather and it will last a long time. I’ve split 30” rounds of fresh green white oak with no problems.
Researching how to change the oil. The engine has two (!!) dipsticks, and no oil drainage port. Never heard of a 4 stroke gas engine that doesnt need periodic oil changes, especially after the first few hours of a new engine. Filings fall off into the factory oil, snd needs to be swapped out.
i picked up exact same splitter yesterday tractor supply great deal broken 600.00 got it home repaired were the wedge had bitten in to the rail putting grooves in both pieces improper use. Mine has two screw in dip sticks and two drains 12mm bolt i believe is the size .i was in bed watching this video. I am on on second tank of fuel plan on changing oil. got up put on some pants grabbed my light and yes there are two drain plugs .just like the Honda clone on my small gen that has over 1000 hours run time i use mobile delvac 10w40 14.00 gallon on sale at Walmart i do not have engine problems .

Thanks. Where did you buy your cradle? Is there a specific one that fits Husky?
@@offthetrailsoutdoorsAmazon, ytl-015-431 log catcher, small, it will bolt right up
Thanks, ordering now!
Where did you get the cradle?
reviews on other splitters say when the fluid gets foamy, it doesnt run efficiently. is that the case with this one?
I have not had that happen. I only have a few hours , one month of ownership. Where are you seeing that at?
@@offthetrailsoutdoors The clear pipe. the hydraulic fluid, doesnt always look like that?
Yes that’s the hydroponic fluid. Yeah I think it does
Does it auto return when you release the lever or do you have to push it up?
Have to push back
