- If you thought Idlis are only vegetarian, think again. This week on Khaane Mein Kya Hai? I am at We Idliwale in Pune. And what a feast it is... Kundhapur Style Chicken Idli, Mutton Idli, Crab Idli. Not just that there's Mutton Fry with Malabari Paratha, Chicken Fry Dosa and for my vegetarian friends there is the humble but super tasty Idli Sambhar and Chutney.

mark weins is a pe do, he gives me the creeps with his constant smiling, on the other hand KV makes you feel you are literally there in the video and are experiencing it with him. Thats a different between a pro and a blogger
I used to watch Kunal sir's food review videos ever since he was in CNN I think. I always was a fan of this man. The way he eats with so much love and enthusiasm makes anyone feel happy. :)

Kundapur and total South canara (Udupi and Mangalore) are used to eat this special idlee / Sana a type of idlee with chicken and mutton curry.they are traditionally eaten are best combination.

real good job you did.. eye opener indeed for those in the north that think that Idlis and thosais are eaten with just coconut chutney and sambhar and eating with non vegetarian sides is unthinkable and unheard of.
You are a Gem and show the beautiful, unexplored side of Pune and Maharashtra. Otherwise, these foreigners who come to Pune, hire someone through Instagram who are 90% of the time not born in Pune and take them to Chole Bhature, dabeli, dosa stand, which are my all time favourite but not Maharashtrian or not unique to Pune just like this beautiful mouth watering South Indian restaurant.
They and the world never see the actual food paradise Pune has to offer as it is by far one of the most diverse cities in India with people from all over country and world.

I am so happy to see my peeps Weidliwale here. Weidliwale is one of my favourite places to eat. The food they do is so good, the weekend specials etc. They should have made you have the Kadlepudi Fried bread and Coconut Jaggery Icecream as well. It's so good. There's new trends of experimental foods but those authentic South Indian staple foods are the best!!

Being a South Indian I know this is not a experimental foods. During our festivals we do eat this type of food. One this is missing in this menu is Medu Vada with country chicken curry.
None of this is experimental. Just that North India has mostly been exposed to vegetarean Idli, dosa so called tiffin kind of fare. You will be awed and forget about butter chicken and Kashas if you taste the non vegetarian foods from South and the sheer variety.

Idli with Mutton Kurma/ Gojju is quite a common breakfast item in Old Mysore/ Konganadu. This is particularly true of the working class who love this combination.
The purists from Basavanagudi and Mylapore would be horrified to hear about this combination.
A Mallu friend of mine who is also a vlogger was surprised to know about this combination. He did a vlog on this combo, which is served at Vijayalakshmi Vilas, Palakkad.
Also from malnad n coastal region idli dose kadubu everything is had with fish curry/ chicken curry fur breakfast Aldo lunch n dinner

I am from Chennai.... Idli with Madras fish curry is very common in Chennai houses.... Also idli with Lamp leg Paaya and Idli with chicken is our favorite.... And you know 96 percentage of Tamilians are pure Non vegetarian.... If you go to down South around Madurai, you can taste hardcore Non vegetarian dishes... But in the media it shows only Veg idlis.... Veg idlis are common in chennai streets because it is very cheap in price..... But people love to eat Idli with Fishcurry Or chicken curry....
What is a pure non vegetarian can you explain? And where did you find the 96% statistics could you send a reference link to the statement you have made? I’d like to see some facts.
@@MrChickenchow I come consume non veg daily atleast one egg in my diet,Come and see in chennai... some of my Brahmin friends also eating non veg in hotels, ... In Tamilnadu brahmin population is only 3%...Eating non vegetarian is part of our culture.... In villages offering cattles to the temples and they will eat at the temple area( It's name Kida virunthu)....

@@MrChickenchow why you are going very serious man... In chennai we used to call pure non vegetarian to express our non vegetarian eating habit.... 96% statistics is real i don't have any source data... I just did the comparison with brahmin population, though some of them eating non vegetarian
The dialogue that kunal made from 3:20 is what my dad says too...I hate when he eats idlis with literally any gravy veg or non veg. But today I came to know there are dishes or combinations of his type too.
