The episode probably would have been better if it involved Plankton going to the future to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula, creating the time machine Squidward uses to escape the future, later being chrome sprayed. Could still have Kamp Koral Sandy be involved in sending Plankton back to the present.
That would have made the episode much better, although the spongeboomers would still find a way to make an excuse about nostalgia pandering.

Technically there is still a frozen Squidward in the freezer...why did we never see him again?
There is a theory that SB-129 happens right before the movie, so they never came back to the first krusty krab to check the freezer, and Squidward came back the same day he went into the freezer, so nobody realized he was in the freezer
The Krusty Krab's future version is shut down because of rust. Squidward teleported inside the abandoned restaurant, and some of SpongeBob and Patrick's descendants were there. The future SB and Patrick that appear are just the remains of their present versions. I think all of this is written this way so that PL-1413 doesn't interfere with the story of SB-129

I saw Buff Plankton that wasn't mentioned given this is nod to when Plankton become Plank-Ton in the second movie.
Before anybody says "they are running out of ideas" or any popular thing being said to mock modern spongebob, Nick promoted this episode as a 25th anniversary one ☝️

From what I’ve heard this is one of many classic SpongeBob references in modern SpongeBob, and apparently fans don’t like it very much
Simply because they tie in these old ideas and obvious old jokes that don't work with the modern episodes, in other words they don't give episodes that are actually original and are not trying to be the next meme on every frame

You can really tell it’s mostly fans of SpongeBob making the show now rather than original creators. It’s still fine and fine for people that like it, but I personally feel a little sad that a show which used to be so creative and original is becoming more and more derivative of itself like some kind of fan fiction.
We literally have only three reused plots Dearing season 11-14 so far all of which are anniversary episodes so this is dumb.

I really enjoyed this episode, sure it's not as good as sb 129, but it does expand on the chrome future we got to see in the very first season, the appearance of Kamp Koral Sandy caught me by surprise, and I love how the episode ends with Plankton repeating his mistake and getting sent back to the future. So while it's not as good as sb 129, it's still a very enjoyable episode
You know it would have been perfect if plankton traveled to the future to maybe to something evil or something and then he maybe could have traveled to the events of SB-129 and then maybe sneaks into the machine squidward went in and try to use it but failed to attempts by squidward and starts the conflict with them in the past and squidward doesn’t know that plankton is with him and the part squidward finds caveman sponge and Patrick could have lead to plankton try to go his own pathways and then when they go to the white void plankton could have had a small machine device to with him just in case he was lost and sends him back to his present time. Like that would have been a actual nostalgia I know that that would maybe take awhile but that would have been somewhat of a better plot then just plankton having a look around the place like a museum and just boring also I hate when they putted younger sandy from camp coral in the episode.

Maybe the reason the Krusty Krab is closed was because Plankton went a little farther in the future than Squidward did in SB-129.

There are plenty of good modern ideas like Momageddon and Tango Tangle which are the 2 episodes right before PL-1413 even, and their original. PL-1413 is just a "sequel episode" that was made to celebrate the 25th Anniversary, it's not them running out of ideas necessarily.

This episode was super fetch (no reference intended), I recommend you talk about the new episode that dropped today, Mooned.
I think it might’ve been interesting if Plankton had the idea to travel to the future to obtain the secret formula after it gets made public domain, but accidentally went TOO FAR and explores the future while trying to find a way back.
Plot twist the secret formula in public domain was just a cheap horror film about hamburgers under the sea

While the episode is lacking in conflict, it's still interesting to see the chrome future, or rather an altered version of it, reappear after so long. Plus, with it being SpongeBob's big anniversary year, it makes sense for the crew to revisit some old ideas in episodes like this one.
Also, this is unrelated, but I'm only now just realizing how much the song Twilight by ELO fits the original SB-129. DAICON 4, anyone?

Much like SB-129 it should have involved a LOT more time travel.
For example have him helped get back very quickly much like how squidward was sent back.
Ends up a bit farther back than intended like say the medival times, then sent back to the time Mr. Krabs was creating the secret formula but the machine malfunctions before Plankton can hear the full formula as Mr. Krabs is saying the ingredients to himself OUT LOUD.
Then maybe stuck in the past as he tries to get back to the previous time.
That'll *really* piss Plankton off if he missed out on hearing Krabs blurting out the secret formula
I haven't seen the episode but maybe they could've made future Patrick an antagonist of sorts in the future? Maybe he sees that Plankton is illegally not made of chrome so he decides to chase him down across Bikini Bottom and that's how Plankton learns of the fates of the characters in this alternate but similar future that Squidward visited before
what they could have done was have plankton peek through one of the windows seeing squidward having his butt burned by spongetron in the original episode.

1:34 Maybe this episode takes place 24 years after SB-129.
Here's an idea the fact that Squidward went through time travel meant that delivered was absent the entire time as he traveled forward in time to get to the Chrome future. So whatever happened with Squidward during the process of getting to the Future must have led to the destruction or closure of the krusty krab what might that be well obviously that has to be something with rest. Is it right in front of the door for one of the reasons they closed for. But this time Plankton is no longer around after all he didn't travel. He cryogenically throws himself so that means he was not doing anything the entire time. Which obviously had an effect on the krusty krab and what kind of effect will obviously one that also possibly caused it to close as well maybe.

I think it would’ve been better for Plankton to become satisfied with the knowledge that the Krusty Krab is closed… until he finds that since everything is chrome in the future the original secret formula is long gone so he just leaves and as soon as he does, a freezer door falls revealing a frozen Squidward

I personally feel like the, if Nick is gonna keep doing these “sequel episodes”, if they’re not gonna write them like they did back in the golden age, at least keep the lore straight. Don’t have Kamp Koral Sandy just pop up and explain the timelines converging, and don’t just suddenly make a second Doodlebob who is a distinct from the original since the original still exists in a book, and then make said second Doodlebob act inherently evil despite then ending of Frankendoodle.
