As an Army vet I can say that one of the most terrifying aspects of serving is the thought of being left behind, dead or alive, in a foreign place, away from home, and having no closure for your family. The way the Russian Army is acting in so many forms is an embarrassment.

Russian is here. Ukraine isn't that "foreign" as you can think. Many people speak Russian. It's not always possible to recover bodies or wounded. The same goes for Ukranian side. It's horrible.

In 1974, my 1st job was as a hospital orderly. One of the nurses in the hospital was an old Ukrainian woman who, as a young woman, lived through WW2. She told me that the Germans always took their dead and wounded but that the Russians would just leave them behind, including those badly wounded. I always struggled to believe her. Now 48 years later, I do.

You only have to look at the punishment battalions used by the Red army during WW2 to see how little they value human life. Hundreds of men at a time with no weapons were made to charge German machine gun emplacements by Russian officers. Those same officers also shot regular soldiers if they retreated even if it were due to impossible odds.

They had (still have) the punishment battalions. When they were still trying to encircle Kyiv, a Chechen group was stationed just over the border in Russia. Their job apparently, was to dispatch any Russian troops who had retreated (regularly or irregularly). Russia is a different world to anywhere else. The Russian people have lived under one autocratic and terrorising regime after another for centuries, without a break, apart from the few years between the fall of the USSR and Pooter taking over. But even then, it was mafia central! That kind of history has to have had an effect on the national psyche, and not in a good way.

Ukrainian Security Services intercepted a phone call where a woman went to look for her husband and ended up in separatist held Donetsk city, she found where the body of her husband was and paid the guards. It was in a huge area where thousands of bodies of Russian troops are thrown, it has so many bodies that it was 2 meters high. The most expensive part of that Javelin, the Command Launch Unit is lying there smashed. That piece is not disposable and is reusable and would be kept at any cost. It is a very useful piece of kit on its own due to it's sensors. Unfortunately the person launching that Javelin probably came to a bad end. The Command Launch Unit is worth a lot more than the missile and is never tossed out and discarded. The Russians are just listing all those bodies as MIA (missing in action) so that they don't have to list them as KIA / 200 (killed in action). It is no wonder Russian morale is abysmal. There is an SSh-68 steel helmet there. They aren't issued to Russian army and haven't been for decades. Those dead guys are most likely dead separatists from the LPR or DPR. They have a lot of really old gear that isn't fit for a 21st century war. A lot of them have been forced into it at gunpoint too and have no training. The Russians use them as cannon fodder and send them forwards to be killed so they can learn where Ukrainian machine guns, mortars and artillery are.

I read a first person account by a German tank crewman who fought on the Russian Front. He said one day they were in a town and the Russian soldiers were shooting at them from a house..The machine gunner in the German tank would fire at the Russian soldiers as they ran out the front door of the house trying to attack them. But as soon as the soldiers exposed themselves they were immediately cut down by the machine-gun fire. Regardless of their losses the soldiers kept running out 2-3 at a time. He could not believe how the bodies were piling up and yet they would keep sending more soldiers out the door.. Eventually the fight was over and the remaining Russian soldiers were captured. When questioned as to why they kept running out the door knowing they had no chance. They said their commander forced them to do it at gun point. The logic was the German tank would eventually run out of ammo and then they could attack it. Let that sink in for minute.

Each officially identified Russian KIA costs Russia ~$90,000 USD in death benefits (~3 years pay for most.) Assuming Putin honors the increase from ~$30,000 USD he made shortly after the invasion began in order to entice more recruits (he's made such increases in past conflicts only to roll it back in the end and occassionally not even bothering to pay anything at all or doing so many years later.)
Also, many of the dead might be foreign fighters (Syrians for example) or paid paramilitary (like the Wagner group) in Russian uniforms. The Russian Defense Ministry doesn't include them in death counts and the use of such forces has been a favored exploit going back to the USSR days.

Their families are kept in the dark - he is a deserter, or missing in action so no Compensation is forthcoming because he died in battle(which the Russians will never admit)

As much as I like seeing Ukrainians winning, it's such a damn tragedy for the ordinary Russian soldiers; young men in their late teens and early 20's with their whole lives ahead of them, forced into this needless war for an old man nearing his end.

      Compare that to Bitchute:
Russian Soldiers Have To Dispose Of The Many AFU Carcasses
Russians Forced To Bury Giant Piles Of AFU Dead In Mass Graves As Kiev Doesn't Want The Bodies
Construction Of Another Landfill For The Thousands Of AFU Dead
If the Russians are taking care of the war dead of Ukraine it means two things: one, they would certainly take care of their own if they knew; and two, you are not winning the war when the enemy is taking care of your war dead at a massive level.

Probably not. Being brutalized by strong authoritarian governments has been a part of their culture ever since they were vassals of the Mongol Empire. Every once in awhile they'll get a wild hair up their collective a** and revolt only to end up in pretty much the same situation shortly afterward.

I hope the day comes soon when the orcs are gone, the land has healed, and Ukrainians can create new, happy memories of picnics in the woods to bury the memories of the sorrows of the ors invasion. 💪🇺🇦🕊🌻

Why even film it, just to blur it out, people need to see it…your work means nothing with all those blurred bodies. We can’t even see your work.
