You need a set of mechanics/machines feeler gauges, I'm sure they would come in handy.

If there's anything wrong with the frets or the fretboard it can ruin all effort.
They do their best at the factory to make sure that doesn't happen.
Depending on circumstance things can still go wrong.
Jackson JS32 has a very good neck.

I have a big problem sorting my intonation, I think partly is I had to change the string gauge, from 9's to 10's since I only had 9's and coupled with locking tuners , no matter what I tried nada, so I decided to head to tech in the next few weeks to have the guitar sorted properly before I damage it, frustrating not being able to play, I have read the comment of less that honest techs, but you read the reviews so I found one close by, the chap is a band so he does the guitar work and their is plenty of happy customers, but it's frustrating not being able to play it now, but I guess there is theory i can review I am definitely having guitar withdrawal now, but what I would love to do is find a real cheap guitar and start learning guitar setup, funny thing is my girlfriend said leave the guitar before you ruin it, lol you just have to bite the bullet and just let someone who knows, but love this videos you are doing Gary, your a great teacher, I will see you in the near future on Fretboard :)

I just got a guitar at guitar center the bottom e string was not ringing out, I came back and they said the neck needed to be straightened out. I’m not sure if it was bending back or forward.
If the string doesn’t ring and kinda buzzes but the neck gets straightened out, do you think the guitar will be prone to this issue in the future?
I also realized the intonation was off on that guitar and also my other new p90 sg with a wrap around bridge .

How can one check neck relief when the strings are attached?
At best, one could only tell if the neck is grossly concave(neck goes down relative to body of guitar) or convex(neck is up relative to body of guitar).
I would think that one would start with the neck slightly convex(neck bending downwards). Once the strings are installed, they will pull the neck up, against the truss rod resistance.

For any truss-rod adjustments, we highly recommend taking your guitar to a professional.

What hate comments? There are literally 5 main comments.
Johnny Blue: Asking about "what am I missing". You: "Whats with the hate comments?". Brian M: A comment about how he has problems sorting out his intonation. Hawg427: "A very informative video". Jean Claude: Advises people to use this video instead of going to a tech. Diana: "Wonderful".
