It's human nature though. I'm not saying we can't be self aware and try to get past this, but we are largely unaware when it is happening. As for finding people attractive, it's inevitable
@pink girl Human beings admire beauty, and it shapes our perception of things and people. Think about this: butterflies are just as gross as flies. They too thrive on waste and spread germs. But we never see flies gracefully land on Disney princesses fingers. We see butterflies. We are wired to think of beauty as more intrinsically valuable and even moral. Being aware of that bias helps you catch yourself and redirect or rationalize your judgements of people. At the end of the day beauty is meaningless, but our admiration of it is definitely part of our nature.
deadly dimitar That’s really rude to say. You’re going under most people comments bragging about how attractive you are while claiming everyone else is average or below. Chill out. I thought the same thing, I've never seen 2 halves of faces look almost the same. But she has had a little cosmetic surgery; maybe it wasn't as symmetrical before.
I noticed that I'm able to watch these without it affecting my mental health. I think it's probably because, over the years, I've mentally practiced valuing personality over looks. I don't take looks personally anymore, since they don't reflect the most important part of myself or other people.
I had a co-worker that I thought was so pretty. One day after a year of working together, I saw her at a certain angle and noticed she had no chin or visible jawline. It didn't make me think less of her beauty and showed me that we each focus on our specific flaws..but in real life others see us as a whole face and they don't see us in separate parts like we see ourselves. I've heard my guy friends talk about beauty and they all said they can still find a woman attractive if she has a recessed chin and overbite..but they don't find girls attractive who have excessively large chins and underbites. I hate that I heard them say that, but they're a shallow bunch.
It's weird that anonymous trolls are offended for my friends. My guy friends label themselves shallow and they like it. They're known for being that way by all their friends..that's their sense of humor. Funny that the ONLY reason I wrote that at the end was so trolls would NOT think I agree with my friends. This video is about analyzing physical appearance, that is shallow itself..but you're still here.

My pain is almost down to 0 (still have some small recovery to go). I realized how bug of a mental impediment it was. But I don’t feel that much more attractive, I don’t feel I look better now. But for sure my life has improved, no doubt about it.
I’m sure you did your diligent work in finding a good surgeon. So it is normal to be scared, breath into it and know for sure life will be much better on the other side! I am so happy with myself I did it. So grateful!
I just got double jaw surgery and my chin done because of how low my self esteem was. My jaw and chin were misaligned and there were assholes who would tell me how crooked my face was. But that’s not the main reason, I also had TMJ. I feel much better now but the surgery was brutal and recovery was brutal.
There is a thing called pretty privilege. My advice is to train (any sport, the gym etc), eat well. By eat well I mean know your weight, know your measurements, know your body fat. From there work out your daily caloric expenditure and fine tune an eating protocol to either burn your excess fat or to build muscle. The internet provides all this information for free. Once you are training regulalrly, losing excess fat and building muscle I am certain that after a year or a bit longer you will have a better perception of yourself. Take your time chewing your food and chew gum, gum has been great for my jawline.
But dont forget to never chee gum on empty stomach vuz chewing will trigger the production of digestive fluids which arent that good for the walls of your stomach if there's nothing to digest. This is also a good trick to have better digestion (chewing gum after a big meal to stimulate it more)
Growing up I didnt know that this was a thing. We're just told some people were chinless/ weak jaw. Weird that it becomes that way because of tongue/ bite issues.
Same. This really pissed me off. My mom just told me “well, I have an overbite so it must be in your DNA to have an overbite too”. She didn’t allow me to use social media until I was 15, which I agree with in some ways, but disagree with for other ways. I never had any way of knowing mewing existed until a year ago, and I didn’t even come across mewing until 2 months ago (at age 16) which made me mad. However I guess I have a choice, “be better or be bitter” so I’ll keep mewing, although I don’t really have any growing years left. Oh well, even if it’s only 3 mm difference it helps I suppose
@@joogaloo929 the gaslighting is real. Mine say too, also about mt other features. Fkn hell, we laughed at kids w braces in school here but those kids had good parents.
"university graduates were more picky when choosing for facial attractiveness" this is because a lot of young people go to college, and often this is correlated with a baseline of health, economic stability, caring about self-improvement... so really the most attractive people are concentrated in one area and it skews expectations. Exposure therapy to more variety in appearance helps people let go of visual attractiveness more. And FYI, this doesn't mean college is a good thing. Usually just the opposite.
I used to have an underbite due to an accident. Now I have a squared jaw, and great gonial angle. I have been treated way better after this surgery than my whole life.

Class 2 can be treated with orthodoncy unless it's a severe case, tho it can be expensive dependeding on the country you're in. You can also try mewing which, even tho results are not gatantied, it's free and may help.
I had double jaw surgery for a class two. It seriously saved my life. If you can do it it’s worth it. As soon as I woke up from the surgery and saw my face my self confidence shot up 100%, not to mention it’s easier to eat and breath, and no more TMJ or migraines!!

@Nine Waves You should look into getting orthodontic treatment, maybe you have an open bite (sometimes requires surgery).
It’s so deep seated that people are nicer to attractive people, but I still think it’s shallow as hell, even if it’s not on purpose. I might not be “beautiful” with makeup on, but I sure as hell get treated loads better by strangers. Help is offered to me, and people actually make eye contact! Refreshing. Almost like I’m a real human being. Honestly without makeup I could shoplift and nobody would notice. And it’s not about makeup increasing my confidence either, I don’t usually wear makeup anymore, (and rarely look in mirrors) so i forget I’m wearing it (and accidentally rub my fockin eyes!!!argh) until I notice strangers actually seeing me. Only then do I remember I have a face attached to my face.

We treat and perceive people by the way they look, is embedded in our genes!
@REMEMBER THE NAME LOL.

this is because a lot of young people go to college, and often this is correlated with a baseline of health, economic stability, caring about self-improvement... so really the most attractive people are concentrated in one area and it skews expectations. Exposure therapy to more variety in appearance helps people let go of visual attractiveness more.

6:21 to 6:58 can someone do more explaining I still don't understand what he means
I have an overbite and people are still kind enough to say I’m pretty so not sure about this unless it’s sever
I had a genioplasty (chin augmentation surgery) last year. I really liked it. It hurt less than my wisdom teeth removal. They moved just the tip of my chin forwards.
Now i look smarter, skinnier and more confident. People say i look happier and my cheek bones are more visible. I really recommend this surgery.
If you are planning on getting this surgery, please investigate and talk with different doctors. I had more than 10 different consultations before I found a doctor I liked. My doctor specialised in maxillofacial surgeries and facial reconstructions. He is the head doctor in maxillofacial surgeries at the hospital and is also a teacher at a very prestigious university.
If you have any questions about this surgery I'll be happy on telling you my experience and some tips. ☺️
Which doctor did you go to? I have so many questionsss
@@shanzakhan2778 I went to the British Hospital with Dr. Juan Martin Chavanne. Ask me anything ♥️
Hi. How much it is cost? And how many days/weeks you spend for recovery?
Finally something that my face got right, thank God.
I had a 5mm cross bite/laterognathia as a kid and was able to get it fixed with 3 years of braces, rubber bands and other orthodontic appliances. I think it managed to fix the issue with no surgery.
they can all be fixed if the orthodontist is good and starts young (prefferably 7-9) the hardest one to fix is an underbite and once you enter puberty very rarely treatable without surgery
You may not be able to literally see confidence on a face but a confident person's face would be more lit up and bright as compared to someone who is not as confident
Starlight Whispers yes , also I think very beautiful person, who is very insecure, will seem less attractive (IMO)
@@Sempiternal427 Yes, especially when they reveal their personality
Admirable New World in action...
make a video on effect of different facial features on aging.
You can stand an ugly person with good behavior but you can't stand a beautiful person with bad behavior.
Mewing please!!
