Yeah, it’s a pinch but not painful or anything. The needle they use looks much more scarier than it actually is lol (from what I remember a decade ago)

Why is fearing something that regularly happens and has a great impact on the persons life labeled as “irrational “. I never understood why they say that about all things pregnancy and childbirth and I’m afraid (no pun intended) that it’s just another form of medical gaslighting. It’s perfectly natural to fear bodily harm, especially when the type of harm that occurs during childbirth can take forever to heal and can be debilitating, and although not guaranteed, is not uncommon.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I keep holding on to the statement of “what makes the best birth for the mother is the best birth”
It is so important to share about why / how / what makes us feel good about the birth and what makes the mom feels safe.
I think funnily enough that if I were to give birth again (not planning to haha) I would choose home or c section again. So it is so important to empower women to lean into that intuition about what is best for her. A calm mom, a secure feeling mom will always have a better birth (no matter what that birth look like) than a nervous one 🩷
I hope you have a fantastic experience once you get there!

You definitely have a point with that statement :)
