Extraordinary musicians. Thomas Gansch you are out of series. My dream before dying, is to see you in live concert playing all your trumpets, your music and something of Don Ellis. Thomas the BIG, my respects. pippo agostino

I’d be super curious to see a deep dive into the piece Bulgarian Bulge by Don Ellis and how it may or may not have included elements of Bulgarian folk music. Definitely heard some harmony and meter during that video that he may have borrowed.

      There are 2 cells:
      2 2 2 2, 3 2 2 (A) (number of 8ths notes)
      2 2 2 3 2, 3 2 2 (B)
.. and 2 different sections in the tune:
A B (33/8) Tutti in the beginning, solo part, for instance
      B B (36/8) Clarinet, Tb, Tpt part

Your Trumpet player is amazing, once he got warmed up he nailed it. The band never got it. Don Ellis had a practice band in La. In case someopne left the band. That's why he had 3 drummers/ plus himself. Nice try No Cigar.
