To a couple questions in the video: (1) you played saves correctly, a defender always get to roll -- even with a defense of 5+ being hit with an AP(4) weapon -- and a 6 is always a success, (2) when armed with multiple melee weapons you do get to attack with all of them, like you were with multiple ranged weapons on armored vehicles.
Great battlereport, hope to see more grimdark future :) A few notes: * the updated version 2.5 army lists are available In the beta version army builder on OPR website. * remember to activate the sergeant ability a la “focus fire” and “take aim”, super important with a quality 5+ * I believe you are absolutely able to fire all guns on a model when shooting, and likewise with CCWs, so yes you can hit with shields AND batons.
@@battleknights9636 The commander can activate at any time during his activation and you can give most commands to other units within 12". So you could have activated your commander within his transport and give your plasma tank +1 to hit! I think this is what Andreas meant. It is crucial to activate them because so much of HDF only has quality 5+. 😀 It was a nice report to watch looking forward to more!
@@Merlettenigmafrom HDF 2.13: "Commander: When the hero and his unit are activated pick one of the following orders, and they get one of these special rules until the end of the round." Based on this commands can only be issued to the unit he is with, or am I missing something?
Thanks guys for the battle report! Well played. Armies looking really good. Odds discussion around 35:00 is interesting: Clueless Mike is not clueless in this case! Putting the point into AP is better. Unmodified, the guardsmen kill on 2/36, with the point in their quality they kill on 3/36, but with the point of AP they kill on 4/36! 😱
Ah cool - I've got a couple of friends who are keen to try Grimdark - I'll send them a link to this, think we'll be playing it sooner rather than later!
I love how this game almost always end up a close match, with models just getting obliterated left, right and center. Great Batrep, anyway! I really like your banter, er I mean, you conversations: just the right amount of silliness without going over the board, and models look great. I do think that you have enough terrain, though, but maybe you should concentrate the manmade structures (especially the containers) right in the middle, and put the natural rocks on the outer areas, it would make the board cooler looking and more dynamic.
Also at 25 minute mark with the tank: you can split your fire, so you could have fired the shorter range stuff on closer targets (like the big robot thingy)
Also at 28 min mark: you capture objectives at the end of a turn in the basic scenario if I remember correctly. So you should check objectives only at the end of the turn, not when you get to the 3" range.

I also mix up the rules while gaming, it is much easier to spot mistakes from the outside. I don't mean any disrespect by listing errors, just want to help :) in fact I love the reports you do!
You know im not sure !? 😕.... i think it may have been just a brain fade , one of those moments where we said a pistol has 12inch range and then that got stuck in the head .... when in fact they dont have pistols !! 😅 whats even funnier is that i move forward 3 inches so they would have all been in range anyway even if they did have a 12 inch range !! 😂

Yeah i should have used that more ! 🤔 ... it can be very important for prioritising the right targets !
