Catching bass out there in winter is a good achievement. I fish there weekly and do well but it can be a grind. What a nice calm day you had though. Thanks for posting.
I very rarely fish there so it’s always kind of a blank slate everytime I go 😹 I wasn’t even aware how much the water had dropped since the last time I was out. Glad I was able to at least catch a few
@ I saw you were fishing near that rock cave. I’ve always wondered what lives in there when the water is high. The craziest part is how the stripers disappear in that lake in the colder months.
@@Don-vv8ct 😹 wasn’t sure how that was gonna work but it actually wasn’t that hard since the fish were positioned close to bottom. If they were suspended it would’ve been more of a challenge probably
Once you get livescope your mid-strolling game will really pick up. You can definitely do it without it, but with it you can really target a depth or structure.
I don’t think i’ve even caught a 3 pounder, which is why i dont have an official PB 😹 They definitely pull hard though. Hopefully i can catch one worth weighing soon
@ when you lean into one over 4lbs the fight on them is just insane especially on BFS UL 6lb line feel like peacock bass fishing lmao peeling drag off a bait caster like a spinning rod is intense!!! My pb smallie is 5.4 but we grow em pretty big on the North east. Hope you get that PB 👊🏻
What ever you do don’t get live scope. It diminishes the connection between anglers and nature, as the focus shifts from traditional techniques to electronic aids, potentially eroding the essence of the sport.
@@liamshaw3971 don’t worry bud, i’ll never lose myself or my fishing style because of some technology. I mainly want it to be more efficient. Scanning areas so i can save time and avoid fishing dead water, especially in tournament situations. But i’m a power fisherman to the core and i love my thick grass 💪🏽 I agree it can definitely diminish some of the instinct and natural cues that you tap into when you just fish, but it all depends on how you use it
@ cmon bro. Kayak tournaments are the few you can get by without it. 80% of catching big bass is understanding bass behavior in terms of where they like to live. Can you honestly call a fair catch when that 80% of what it takes to catch a bass is simply explained on a screen. 80% of soccer is manipulation of the ball, 80% of hitting a baseball is good timing, 80% marathon is endurance. Would you call a piece of technology that did those aspects of sport fair?
@@liamshaw3971 you still have to understand big bass, seasonal movement, fish migration, feeding windows, and where they like to position themselves to locate them with a small narrow beam. And then you still have to know your bait and how to properly present it to get a big fish to eat. Only difference is you know the fish is there (sometimes) instead of casting at something that isn’t there. To each his own. Plenty of people have avoided the tech and plenty of people have embraced it. You can catch fish both ways. I’ve caught plenty of giant bass without it and one extra transducer isn’t gonna define my fishing.
Always a treat catching smallies. I never get anything over a pound and change out at that lake, though.
@@nicholasmurakami9895 me either 😹
Good job, appreciate the commentary on some of your thoughts on what you are throwing, where to throw it, etc. Here is to a great 2025 fishing!
@@davelerner8461 thanks for watching! Glad you appreciated the dialogue, sometimes I talk too much, other times I don’t talk enough 😹

@ the water being so low is wild. No more structure. I’m glad you caught some!
@ there’s still some deep breaks to fish but a lot of the big boulders and stuff are out of the water 😭

Catching a fish shaking a minnow without ffs is impressive haha nice job dude!

Same to you bro!
Yooooo. The 4s on the yak is criminal lmfao
Why. Gotta stay fitted
@ nahhhhh. Mine never making it on the yak

It’ll happen at some point down the line. Maybe sooner than I think!
First time I seen u use a spinning rod 😂
It’s definitely a rare sighting 🤣 don’t tell anybody
Smallmouth don’t get enough attention. 3lb smallie Vs 3lb largie I’m going smallies every single time the power Man the freaking power.
