Great video. I was out there the day before. Just amazing magical day on the lake. Fishing was tough but got some giant crappie and a couple nice bass on underspin and jerk bait also bonus 12 lb cat!! Appreciate no ffs. I’m just learning how to side scope and use my little hummingbird.keep up good content.
@@georgeabrams3786 you can usually count on the other species to save the day if the bass fishing is tough. Just such a special fishery all around. Thanks for watching! If you have any questions about side scan don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ve had my humminbird for a while now
Definitely nothing to be ashamed of! That was the trophy bass flavor. I’ve been using it on my big swimbaits, but i honestly don’t think it matters that much. The scent is more to mask our human scent and give them a little something to key in on that smells more natural. I dont think it needs to be shad vs craw vs trout or whatever.
Thanks bro! I don’t have livescope, i just have a normal fish finder unit. The Garmin Stiker and Lowrance Hook are the most affordable ones I know, closer to your price range. Or you might be able to find a used Humminbird for a decent price too. Look on Facebook marketplace
I don't know what's wrong with me, but I can catch bass everywhere. Except Clear Lake. I have gone in April for 3 years in a row, and haven't caught a single bass. There are always tournaments happening every time I go so boats are everywhere. I just usually can't find them, and when I do see them, they won't bite. It's been so frustrating that I've canceled my annual Clear Lake trip for my birthday this April in order to try somewhere else 🙃 And I know I can't be THAT bad at bass fishing because I've been slaying them on my home waters this winter 😂
@@thecrispeoutdoors3721 the locals up there make it look easy but I have never had an easy day of fishing on Clear Lake. You have to put in a lot of time to learn that lake, and i’m just starting to scratch the surface. Stop in Clear Lake Outdoors, tell the guys your situation and really have a conversation with them. I wouldn’t quit on it. When you hit the nail on the head and finally put the puzzle together it is one of the most epic places on earth to fish. April is a great time to be there but also a tough time because you will have some fish in different phases. Some may be pushing to the bank or on beds already, while other fish will still be staging and feeding. Finding the fish out there is the hard part. Once you find them it’s all about bite windows, so if you get around fish honestly i’d just sit there, keep trying different stuff until the feeding window opens and then you’re golden. But if you really want to get clued in i’d book a guide trip. That will help jump you up in the learning curve a ton.
I really prefer late fall into early winter because the tournaments really die off and you're right I've had my ass handed to me multiple times on Clear Lake
@@izzywashington5461 i actually enjoy it. I want people to get an idea of my thought process throughout the day of fishing, and there’s lots of teaching moments. Talking through it helps me learn also
