@@to.goo.6855 we tried different baits throughout the day, and he had been trying stuff the few days prior also, but those fish were keyed on those balls of shad so the smaller profile was a better imitation. If they had been keyed on a bigger baitfish i think the bigger baits definitely would be a great option

Appreciate that bro. I grew up fishing the bank so i learned to fish off just sight and feel. Then i graduated to a kayak and got a basic unit with down imaging, started catching some fish with vertical presentations. Then stepped up the side imaging unit and have been able to locate structure and improve my offshore game a lot. Livescope would just be another tool in my arsenal. I definitely don’t NEED it, i know how to catch fish just fine, but there is definitely moments were i think it’d be beneficial and actually teach me some things. Not gonna become a full time screen watcher brotha, don’t worry. There will still be plenty of me burning baits thru grass and flipping heavy cover

Thanks bro! I don’t have livescope, i just have a normal fish finder unit. The Garmin Stiker and Lowrance Hook are the most affordable ones I know, closer to your price range. Or you might be able to find a used Humminbird for a decent price too. Look on Facebook marketplace

@@thecrispeoutdoors3721 the locals up there make it look easy but I have never had an easy day of fishing on Clear Lake. You have to put in a lot of time to learn that lake, and i’m just starting to scratch the surface. Stop in Clear Lake Outdoors, tell the guys your situation and really have a conversation with them. I wouldn’t quit on it. When you hit the nail on the head and finally put the puzzle together it is one of the most epic places on earth to fish. April is a great time to be there but also a tough time because you will have some fish in different phases. Some may be pushing to the bank or on beds already, while other fish will still be staging and feeding. Finding the fish out there is the hard part. Once you find them it’s all about bite windows, so if you get around fish honestly i’d just sit there, keep trying different stuff until the feeding window opens and then you’re golden. But if you really want to get clued in i’d book a guide trip. That will help jump you up in the learning curve a ton.

I really prefer late fall into early winter because the tournaments really die off and you're right I've had my ass handed to me multiple times on Clear Lake
