- In November, 2021. My wife and I bought 10 acres of raw land in Missouri. We are excited to share our journey and figure things out together. We are very new at this and we are learning everything for the first time.

I would suggest a few things to help out. Firstly install metal termite Shields on the sonotubes before concrete anchors are inserted. Look down the floor joists and crown them so the bow in the lumber is facing up to handle downward load. Put blocking between joists all the way down center beam to stabilize the floor. Add adhesive to top of joists when installing OSB to prevent floor squeaking. Use screws instead of nails on OSB to prevent nail popping. I also would use plywood instead of OSB on floor and roof decking but most builders don't. You'll are making good time, good luck with the rest of the project.
Thank you for all those great advices. However the cabin is already framed. 😊👍
The mice will love it
Very nice good job👍👍🤲
کار تان عالیست موفق باشید محترم رسول صاحب 🧿🌹❤️😘🤲👍
First off, congrats on getting to this stage with all the challenges you encountered with the concrete (I will need to catch up on your build). I am at this very stage right now, at a very remote spot high up in the rocky mountains. While it is beautiful up there I ran into super hard pack clay/sand with lots of rocks (go figure right, they don't call it the Rocky Mountains for nothing) and all my holes had to be dug by hand 18" wide, 4' deep. Luckily I had pretty good weather and it didn't rain on my sonotubes and I was able to get all the concrete (also mixed and shoveled into the tubes by hand) before rain came in. My piers look almost identical to yours, the highest point on the grade only has concrete sticking out by 2 foot and the lowest point is sticking out of the ground by at least 4-5 feet. I do have a question for ya... I planned on doing the same thing with the 6x6 treated post (which I already have on hand) by notching out the outer corner and sides to accept the girters and rim joists, did you simply cut the treated posts for your center girter lower by the hight of your joists to let the center have bearing right on it and then use joist hangers for outer end of each joist? Thanks for filming brother!
Yes cut it down the center with proper measurements. Make sure to stain the inside of the notch because they are not treated. Thanks 😊
what about damage from rodents to the insulation from underneath? maybe install a square metal cloth?
Question on your floor insolation. No plastic vapor barrier neded?
We made some mistakes with insulation but later we corrected it with foam insulation and vapor barrier under the crawl space. 👍😊
Looks good, what do you call the thing you used to put on the floor before you apply the pink insulation?
Thank you, sorry for the late reply. It’s foam board insulation from Lowe’s 😊👍
The beams are 2 ply 2x12s? Awesome video!! I’ve been following since the beginning!
Yes . Thank you for watching 👍😊
What size is the cabin? What size floor joists?
24x24 with 16ft tall ceiling and 2by8 joists .
How are you planning to keep the insulation dry if it rains? T&G still leaks. Just curious.
Honestly we haven’t really given it any thought. We are hoping for the best lol. We do have easy access from underneath in case we need to change it the long term.
@@KeyesGlamping might not be a bad idea to liquid flash the seams or somehow otherwise seal it. It would really suck to have to replace the wet insulation, rotten wood, and possibly mold.
Thank you for the advice😊👍🏼
@@KeyesGlamping yep, good luck
Why so hight off the ground?
We need it some space under for storage. 👍😊
My future cabin is almost 11 ft off the ground, I love the idea og being able to park underneath out of the sun.
4 seconds in and dont need to watch the rest... dont start a video with the final shot, no reason to watch the whole thing
.
installed the foil side down, which is wrong. foil always faces the conditioned side of the building (per MFG website). Only time it goes out is if it's right against a concrete wall. And the paper in that batt will mold like crazy right against the foam.
Ok thanks for your advices. I appreciate it. 😊👍
