I grew up in Arcadia in the mid 1940s to early 1960s. I lived on Lemon Ave between Holly and El Monte. Our back fence wad down what would now be the center of Sharon Road. We had a lot of fruit trees in that huge back yard. A lot of people raised chickens, rabbits, mink, chinchilla etc. Some kept horses. Champion jockey Johnny Longden lived on that street, as well as 1952 Miss America Coleen Hutchins. The Hutchins house was on two lots, with a 200 foot frontage and about 400 feet deep. There are now four large mansions on that lot counting two on Wisteria. I do not think there were any Asians at all living in Arcadia back then. I haven't been in Arcadia since about 1974. Interesting video Kevin!
great video! Looking forward to your videos about neighboring cities San Marino, Altadena, etc., or cities a little bit far away like Glendora, San Dimas, etc.
I grew up in Arcadia in the 80’s and 90’s when it was mostly Caucasian. I always thought I stood out being Irish and Hispanic…there was not a lot of diversity at all. I loved growing up there. It always felt safe and there was a type of nostalgia in that town, even back then. Now, when I go back, I take my teen kids and they are like ITS SO BEAUTIFUL, Mom! I’m like yeah, and super expensive…it always has been. I didn’t go to Arcadia High, I went to private school. That said the schools are as tough as he states. They don’t play around…education is serious in Arcadia. It’s such a beautiful town and I love the upper ranch area. The homes still look the same- ranch style. I’m remember when they started building the McMansions…that’s what we called them. That started along 1989 and to me ruined some of the culdesac streets. Even still, the nostalgia is on full blast when I go back to my hometown.
Thanks for the input! I grew up in the 90s and mall has gotten way more fancier with more boutique brands throughout the years! Hope your kids have a blast next time they go there!
Very helpful video and amazing channel! Would love to hear your thoughts on pros and cons of living in nearby cities like La Cañada Flintridge, Alhambra and San Marino as well.
Appreciate the support! I have those on “to do” list. A lot of the info comes from client experience! If you know people with real estate needs let me know! Glad to help!
My dad was the mayor of Monrovia, i left the Arcadia area because I wanted diversity. Arcadia is mostly Asian. If you're Asian, its very Asian. Lots of Han Chinese, lots of "girlfriends" and teenagers with little supervision. Insurance is very exspernesive. Lots of poor drivers, new to the area. My daughter played water polo, for Temple City, poor competition. Very safe place.
Thanks for the input! There are lots of cities to choose from if you prefer to live around but not directly in Arcadia. Temple City is one of the safest cities in San Gabriel valley and Monrovia is becoming more hip and trendy now as well!
@Living in Pasadena CA lived in SoCal for years, too exspernesive and far too many regulations. I am done with city life. We sold a home in Pasadena ( upper Mar Vista) before Covid and ran. Bought acreage, no close neighbors, but lots of horses! Cheers. May you sell lots of homes.
Still better than Irvine in OC! Arcadia has buses and trains like the foothill gold line, Arcadia has nightlife! Irvine has neither 😂 Pasadena is right next door to Arcadia! On the other hand if you live in Irvine and you want night life, you have to drive from Irvine to find night life
I love the women of Arcadia. So many mistresses that have a lover on the side. I’m a lover for 3 women in Arcadia right now. So far ram through about 17 mistresses.

In n’ Out is the jewel of Arcadia California. 😜👍🏻
There is always a drive through line on Santa Anita!
Informative
If not Arcadia, then Tustin in Orange County is a good substitute to similar school district academics and surroundings. Much more affordable.
Fantastic video, Kevin! Nice job!
Thanks John! I'll have to ask you about Pros and Cons about Chino Hills soon!

Grew up in Arcadia, live in Costa Mesa now
Do you prefer that part of OC or west San Gabriel Valley?
Where did you get the shoes for your dogs and what size is it. Thanks
Amazon! By company called Xanday. Riley wears size 4 but I’d get a few different sizes and return the ones that don’t fit.
Very interesting video. What area do you suggest for singles?
It really depends where you work and your lifestyle. Parts of Glendale, North Hollywood or Northeast Los Angeles is popular among clients.
