Also, how would he definitively be able to say to the interviewer that he knew he was the last person Joseph saw without totally implicating himself as the family's murderer?

Even if he meant that he was the last person to see them alive besides the killer and the cops really only asked him if he knew about their disappearance and not the murders, his callous behavior shows so much about his motives. He shows up to the interview wearing this stupid cowboy hat, probably thinking it’s looked cool when he looks like an idiot, then he’s shopping around a book, movie and/or documentary about the McStay family murders. He’s not distraught about their disappearance in the least, for him he’s trying to use them for new found fame which he can turn into money.

I suppose the DA found out from chases girlfriend after interogation that its better for her not to lie about chases phony alibi being with her at the time of murder or she could pay the price big price.that would certainly make chase look guilty, why else would he lie about his whereabouts unless he's hiding something.?

Yes. I was watching some of the interview that the murderer Paris Bennett did with Piers Morgan and he kept staring at Piers Morgan with a fixed stare, barely blinking at all, yet he brutally murdered and raped his 4 year old sister. I'm sure a total sociopath/psychopath like that would have no problem fixing anyone with an unwavering stare, which obviously would not prove in any way that anything they said was anywhere near the truth.

Not only the last person to see them alive but the only one that was way too forceful in blaming the wife and accusing her of trying to kill the husband, being controling and hating the stepson yet not one family member of the husband had anything bad to say about her and I'd think if there was that kind of issue the family would have known and spoke up. To me it was someone too quick to point a finger at a person that was also missing and didn't make sense. That stuck out to me and had me thinking he knew more than what he was telling. Now it comes to pass that I was right in that thought

  • @cellis3045

I just know he had something to do with it....and you can easily tell by his body language and the way he talks about that family...there is no remorse, or sorrow, he's cold and it gives me chills. He is nonchalant, matter of fact shrugging his shoulders. I can see a bit of nervousness in his eyes, that he is trying to control. He even was rude about Joseph's walk...saying 'he walked funny', and could tell his walk a mile off. The fact he tells everyone he was the last person to see them, is to make out he is being upfront and honest about that, so obviously it may look like he has nothing to hide by admitting it. I think there was a lot of lucrative deals set in place for the business which would have been worth a lot of money, and he wanted to take over the business to acquire it. That computer programmer/web designer who did the website for the business etc should be looked at also. He put the business in his name after they disappeared....and that is not suspicious? I think either Chase did it, or he was in cahoots with the computer guy to take over the business!.....Chase was the last person to see them, and they end up dead a stone's throw from where he lives?....you do the math!

You know, I tried furiously along with everyone else to figure this out and though I never like Chase and thought he looked like a prime suspect, I admit I got sucked into all the suggestions about other suspects which made me believe he was probably innocent. A lot of doubt about his culpability came from his own claims that he was Joseph's best friend and that they were looking forward to a lucrative business deal, and him defending Joseph saying Joseph would never get mixed up in drugs or illegal activity, not to mention his claim that he was the only one who volunteered for a polygraph, that he passed it, and of course that he had an alibi which was watching a movie with his girlfriend when a call from Joseph's to his cell was placed.
You have to wonder what evil lurks within the mind of someone capable of such magnitude in single-handedly eliminating four lives, including very innocent, very little children who probably suffered incredible fear and shock from seeing their mommy and daddy killed. You have to wonder the unfathomable that Merritt could publicly subject himself to interviews, express false grief for his loss, and proclaim his innocence in order to divert attention away from himself.
As is being shown here, the last person to see and talk to them, turned out to be the suspect.
They found something in that home. When will we find out what it was?

Because there is nothing to find, and if there was LE did such a botched up job there is no chance of ever finding the real killer/killers at this point. There will be no justice for this family because LE jumped to conclusions and tried to nail someone without the proper evidence to back it up!

Also at 00:53 it almost looks like he’s going to say
“Do I know anything about the murders”
But catches himself and quickly says them disappearing
Idk maybe I been watching too much true crime 😂

Gambling is forbidden in all religions. Should be demolished from our the society. It could be exiting and entertaining but the kind of action that a person willing to take once became addicted is no joke. The gambling associates become rich beyond belief while many family's life are ruined and affected. Not only for those who practice and become addicted but also for those who got nothing to with it.

From someone who couldn't care less about your religion, please shut the fuck up.
