In my opinion they should focus on improving other things related to resin printers. I mean, stuff like this "rocket" printer which enables printing without many supports - no longer upside down, better FEP screen or some sort of alternative that would make things idiot-proof, improved resins (more endure and with other properties), speed etc. The current quality of prints is simply great so I'd like to see them working on those other factors more.
Loving the content, keep up the great work! :D I've been using a 0.04 layer height and a 20% less exposure with a 7mm lift height for awhile now, per the combination of your videos and I honestly think that is the way to go for accuracy, zero fails and basically no height layer lines on curved surfaces the time difference seems worth that small change.
back to watching this channel after a long absence - glad to see you're still workin'. 2 questions kinda related a) do you have a good suggestion or ready video regarding ease-of-use resin printers? I'm coming in from backing that hype-train filament on kickstarter, so I'm seeing if resin reliability is improved as well. b) do you also have suggestions on KS art studios or others that have good models to print? (to clarify, more fantasy figure focused, but generally anything fun) thanks!
Comparison is quite poor due to the fact you're using two different resins... While undeniably 8k is a massive step up, both should've had the best settings you can get and same resin. Glossy finish on the right seriously messes it up and it might be overexposed too? Again, undeniably 8k is a massive step up, but a fair comparison would make for a better video.
I don't have the original resin anymore that I used on my OG photon, I looked at a ton of my original photon prints tho before comparing, so it's fairer than it may look here :)
Hi, Greg! Any thoughts on the M3 series from Anycubic? Especially the plain M3. I have a photon mono and am looking for an upgrade that won't break the bank. A little more size, better resolution would be great and wifi connectivity would be awesome. Keep up the great work man, one of my go-to channels.
Personally gave up on resin printers due to all the mess, cleaning, endless hours making sure none of that stuff gets on my skin. Love the idea but the current process of staying safe while making something is more like a full time job than a hobby.
I would like some more reviews of tough resins, i have been doing the Syratech fast and tenacious mix and it been failing me alot recently. brittle prints or prints that cant seem to take even a short fall. i have been doing a 1/10 mix of tenacious to fast. anyone have any recommendations ?
@@shawnmichaud4484 ill give that a try i did a 2/10 and noticed it was alot harder to get supports off. But ill try anything to not have a paint job ruined because my cat knocks a figure of my desk.

Because the detail is given not only by the screen resolution, but also by the color and quality of the resin. )
Fun little video greg! Thanks!
I think I'm quite lucky my original photon is still running without any problems, it's even outlived my photon mono

I'm actually amazed at the difference in detail, was not expecting it to be that much.
The difference has more to do with the resin used between the two prints.

I've been waiting for Phrozen to come out with a Mighty 8k. I didn't know Epax had come out with something similar. Guess I'm going to go for that.

What resin did you use in this 8k print? How on earth did you accomplished such awesome shadows in detail areas? Thank you for your video.
New Microphone? Thx a lot.

Yep it takes some time and some care but the results...I call worth! :D
DLP is the cutting edge.
Yes, but the 1st take had crap resolution, BUT the new Anycubic DLP (version 2) supposedly tackles that issue! Exciting
i still use my OG Photon. i'll use it until it dies i think
I think the biggest difference is the resolution on her hands. The old print just looks like it has meat hooks, big ham fists!
Please prime the minis in the same paint when doing comparisons. The photon has a glossy finish that does it no favors on images.
Yes but if I prime I'm always worried people will accuse me of "altering" the prints so I leave everything raw...
@@3dprintingpro212 Yeah, I get that.

1/10 is not enough to make a significant improvement. I would do at least 20%, but I personally thought 30% was a nice spot.
