When you say in an interview your plan was to stay at inter then go to Madrid, Barca or Bayern and because that didn't happen you went to Chelsea it's not exactly easy to back track on that
I think it would be better if he actually say that he didn't expect that Chelsea will resign him again so that's why he only think of other big clubs. And that now he is really grateful that he plays for Chelsea.

His biggest mistake was not to stay at Inter. He wanted a new contract, when the club had financial problems. He was greedy, and didn't appreciate what Inter gave him. He was their starman, he looked fit and happy, the fans loved him, he won the league... This year they look even stronger without him, and they don't even miss him. No player is bigger than any club, and his Karma is killing him since the beginning of the season

So many of these things start with the medias view of an event, then people adopt that view, and the media acts like it originated with the fans.

Then fans start questioning his commitment to Chelsea.
Next headline “will Lukaku apologise to fans”
Fans start expecting an apology.
Henry, Ronaldo left Arsenal to go where the grass is greener, but they are still hailed as hero’s at the clubs, and came back to play for the club. It’s just the way it’s spun by the media. If the headlines were “Lukaku shows love to former club” maybe the court of public opinion would have ruled differently.
