Not really, most of Commdore 8-bit computers, Sinclair 8-bit computers, Amstrad CPC computers, Atari 8-bit computers, Atari ST computers, and Commodore Amiga computers did the same thing.
Working in London, someone broke into our office and stole the keyboards, no doubt thinking they were some kind of micro computer. They were, of course, disappointed.
This train left the station a decade ago. All-in-ones seem like a neat idea but It wouldn't be good to be locked into that awkward little folding keyboard. What we need is a compact little box with usb connectors for our choice of kbd, mouse and monitor.
Cool, I love these Amiga 500 style computers, will make for a fantastic travel gaming computer to hook up to Hotel TV's, I did this when travelling round SE:Asia, I could hook up my GPD Win 2 via HDMI and play anything I wanted on my Steam library (was powerful enough back then to run modern titles) and could emulate everything too.
OH! I have something similar to this. The big difference is that instead of the form factor being a keyboard, the form factor is a screen and the keyboard is digital so I don't have to hook into anything extra. I can surf the web with it, watch videos, install apps too! Oh, and it makes calls, I guess, if your into that sorta things.
Vintage apple computers? Hell, vintage computer in general do this. Commodore Vic 20, C64, C128. Tandy’s do this. The only difference is that their keyboards feel amazing, this doesn’t look like it however.
I think apple did the keyboard computer first because if I remember right the commodore pet and Tandy the screen was built in but the apple 2 was just a keyboard
Funnily its a pretty old idea. I remember my old high school has something like that, colletinf dusk in a room they use for metting , keyboard without wires and instead, something like nes, snes or sega catigible, pin board in the back. I google it and result the keyboard was a full old computer mean to be connected to a tv 📺 (yes these ones) with a adapter(sadly they loss it so i cant check if it still work) . PD: My high scholl was weird in from a small town the spend money in the most random thing, over the years.
This with a portable display (especially a DIY one), a wireless mouse, and the required plugs for power and it could be a bit better mobile device that a laptop.( Just theorizing)
For everyone who say rpi 400 is a raspberry pi 4 with raspberry pi os(debian based linux) with it you can do pretty much everything that don't requires a nasa pc
For a computer, android is probably not the operating system to go. Would much prefer Windows or Linux. There is the Raspberry Pi 400 though, which uses an ARM processor and by default runs Linux, but you can put android on.
@@jojo_da_poe depends what you need from a computer. for a lot of people who just browse the web and do basic office stuff android is more than enough. for actual real digital work or gaming though it's definitely not the best
We're returning to the Commodore 64
Vic 20 was before
Yes 💯

your pfp is my background
Are we forgetting about the raspberry pi 400?
And older macs?

Pi 400 doesn’t have built in battery or trackpad. Also, this has much higher specs and FOLDS.

Thank you
Absolutely loving the advances in small powerful pc.
Everything new is just well-forgotten past. This unit proves it.
Oh boy, it's a modern Commodore style all in one
Wow so revolutionary it's like one of those 80s keyboard computers
The ling long 😂
My favorite brand of truck tires
Absolutely loving the original design ideas. Nothing like a ZX Spectrum or Commodore 64 at all.
You know, it would be nice to see fully-featured microcomputers come back in modern form like these.
YES!!!! FINALLY!!! I was waiting for someone to do this, i never recovered after the commodore 64
Raspberry pi 4000: finally, a worthy opponent
Working in London, someone broke into our office and stole the keyboards, no doubt thinking they were some kind of micro computer. They were, of course, disappointed.
"Hold on a sec, my keyboard is overheating"
has everyone forgot about the rpi 400
Tell CarterPCs to do the thug shake
💀🥶🗣🗿💰
Yes
ZX Spectrum springs to my mind
The raspberry pi 400 (existed before that)
COMODORE VIC 20
@@jolex_nerd8132 yes , also the Commodore PET was in the same time era
Raspberry pi 400 vibes I like it
Oh my god finally its full cycle. Im actually excited to see what mpdern spin the try on this on
Gaming pc idea if the parts ever get small enough to work with mechanical switches, and I'd be sold
We’re going straight back to the early 80s with this 🗣️🔥
they finally made a commodore 64 that you can fold in half
This gotta be on of the goofiest pieces of tech I've ever seen. 💀
This proposal would be viable if we could use the cell phone screen.
oh the keyboard rage punches are going to be LETHAL now

Damn we living in the far flung future of 1983
This is like the hackers PC in every 90s heist movie 😆
That first image is old and legendary. Who else remembers it?
So we're going back to the days of 8 bit and 16 bit micros. Honestly not a bad thing at all. Those were very much expandable and moddable back then.
The point of a portable pc is to be able to use it without needing a screen. Defeats the purpose imo

I take my portable pc everywhere everyday, it's called a phone
“Yo bro pass me the Lap”
i would probably buy this because it can travel seamlessly between my parents houses
Now we just need a holographic display
Finnaly i got the notification for your video. I love watching your tech videos, keep up the work. ❤❤❤❤❤
I bet when the package shows up at your door the doorbell says "Ling Long"

The laptop in Eminems back pocket.
I hate laptop keyboards, but this thing seems pretty good.
One hell of toasty keyboard
ZX, C64, Amiga 500, Atari ST?
They already have something like that just a little bigger for the blind. It reads everything out to the user so no monitor necessary
Tippy Tappy goes Boom! 💥
Bro I wondered why this never was a thing for so long
Vintage apple computers? Hell, vintage computer in general do this. Commodore Vic 20, C64, C128. Tandy’s do this. The only difference is that their keyboards feel amazing, this doesn’t look like it however.

Makes more sense than a laptop
HOT KEYBOARD!
honestly i like concept no real life use
Would be kind of cool if you could use your phone as the screen and it came with a little phone holder.
They should just make a small foldable keyboard with the simplest keys to connect to VR/AR
The children yearn for the Commodore 64
Reminds me of the 80’s! Eeeeee.
Linglong means exquisite just like my "linglong" 😢
gonna burn those digits off with the possible temps from that CPU
If I played FnF with this keyboard it ain’t gonna last a week
I like it tbh
This is too cool
Wait, Isn't Linglong, Deepin Linux Os's Custom Made Software Packaging System?
I would get a tiny oled screen
Sooooooo a return to 8bit Speccy, C64, Amiga, ST etc.
Raspberry Pi has had these for a while. This isn't new. its still cool!
If the keyboard gets some kind of monitor then it will definitely be a better thing, but for now it probably won’t be used much
This would be great if there was minimal input delay
Good concept, and probably not with the keyboard. I thought mini-PC is better user experience for it. 😅
so it’s either a laptop without a screen or a Commodore 64 but new
Funnily its a pretty old idea.

Yes, it was an old idea.

I did that to one of my old laptops with a broken screen as a project lol
i saw that keyboard that is fully a hologram and fully works, i future both monitor and keyboard will be in a inch diameter box
beautiful
Linglong for my ding-

Reinventing the Smart Phone.
Linux users be going crazy
Aren't there already a ton of keyboards with integrated raspberry pis that can do the exact same?
Damn rigyht am human

Wait, have we actually just re-invented laptops but without the screen.
And did he just ask how it's going to work with you tapping on the thing
Basically a laptop without a screen

they named it after a brand of tires

Raspberry pi 400:
When a keyboard is more powerful than your laptop💀
What's funny is that used to be the normal in the late 80s early 90s
The Commodore 64 for 2024
Would work well with an HMD.
i did this to my old toshiba laptop that the screen was broken😂
Imagine getting controller drift
Raspberry pi already did this years ago...
looks neat, but yea it looks not so durable
