It's time for a mortgage payoff update! A few people asked how it was going and if we were still making progress on our mortgage payoff.
We are not paying off our mortgage fast by paying much extra, but it's still paying off quickly. I also started paying $2 a month more just to round up the payment for my own mental satisfaction.
I also share our house value and how much equity we have now. It's a lot! We could potentially use that for our next house, who knows what will happen?!?! Having less debt and more equity gives us more options. That's what I love about paying off debt. Options and freedom of choice!
In this video I share my semi-quarterly mortgage payoff update for those who still want to get updates!

Being mortgage-free definitely feels good. Not having car loans is an absolute cherry on top.

I bet! I’l be driving my current paid in full car for a long time. I don’t put as many miles on it so it’s going to last a while.

Wait until you get under $50k for your payoff. It will be SO tempting to not empty your emergency savings just to pay the booger off. Looking forward to you reaching that goal. Great job, Mary!

I’ve kinda thought about that… once it’s that low it will be tempting even with the great rate!

Paid my house off March 2022. Had a 4.25% interest rate but regardless, the feeling of owning your home is amazing. Keep going!

I do the same thing of adding extra money to make it an even number. I also add an extra 100.00 a month so that it comes out to a 0% interest rate over the life of the loan. ❤❤❤❤

We round up our mortgage also. It's about $43 a month we round up too. Plus we send our escrow $60 a month. The last 2 years they issued us a check for the overage on the escrow. Great video. Hugs my friend. ☘☘🤗🤗💚💚

Winnipeger here...I'd take the US's ability to have long term rates (when good) over a cheaper house right now 😂 our current rate is 1.94% and I'm terrified to renew the next 5 yr ear term...it's going to hurt and it's going to be near impossible for us to make extra payments

The key to this entire video is WE. It would sure be nice to have two incomes to pay a mortgage off quicker. Not all of us have that luxury.

If not a romantic partner or spouse people could get a roommate (or 3). It’s definitely easier with more than one income.
