DIY Convert or Change European 2 pin plug to UK 3 Pin Plug Tutorial Step by Step.
It is safe to replace a 2-pin plug with a 3-pin plug, but be completely aware that the ground pin does no good at all unless there happened to be a third ground conductor in the original (or replacement) cord and you connected it appropriately.
Both kinds of outlets feature hot and neutral wires, but the big difference is that three-prong outlets have a grounding wire, while two-prong outlets don't have one. Since three-prong outlets feature this grounding wire, they're much safer than two-prong outlets.

cut my end of and have two black wires instead of blue and brown

Should one of them are Live and Neutral wires.Original can be reverse insert at the plug.
