  • Please bare with me in new to making videos.
    This is a video of a trolling motor install through the middle console of a big fish 105/120 kayak.
    FYI you'll loose easy access to the middle console doing this with the trolling being the lid can't open without the pins out. The console is mainly used to store extra transducer wire.
    Please like and share this video. And subscribe for more videos. I have the 3 waters rudder and still have to install that and was going to make a video soon. lots of fishing videos in the future coming.

    Great job bro. It’s great to see you can use a normal trolling motor that you can buy at Walmart, academy etc and not some weird brand. Really a trolling motor makes the big fish exactly what I’ve been looking for.

      dp4auburn exactly, cause I know the torpedo motor for a kayak is over a grand. That's crazy..

      Brandon Crow it’s all gotten pretty crazy. $1000+ fishing kayaks are the norm these days and no one bats an eye about it. It’s just plastic after all, same stuff they make buckets out of.

    Good job Dud. I do have a question for you. The area that you mounted the transducer is going to be right in the prop wash. I just wanted to know have you tested it yet to see if you get any interference. I have the big fish 105 and been trying to figure out how to put on a trolling motor and still use the sonar pod to mount my transducer for my Hummingbird Helix 7 with side imagining. I would love to see your results
    All in all great job though.

    What happens when ur in shallow water? Can you not go in it at all or does ur motor come up?

    I hope this isn't a silly question, but do you have to cut an opening through the bottom of the kayak? I'm new to this and I'm doing as much research as possible before making the big purchase.

      June Bug no on the big fish kayak under the middle console it's already open. You don't have to cut anything on the kayak. Just the console box.

    Do you put the batteries in the front section of the kayak or do you store them in the removal box? Thank you for the video very helpful!

      Pascal carter I use a small ammo box for the fish finder and store up front and I use a deep cycle for trolling motor and that's stored in back inside a crate

      That's awesome! what type of battery did you use? Did all that weight up front effect the handling a lot? Thanks for the Info.

      I'm curious if it would be worth it to try and have the battery set up in the back and figure out a way to wire it to the front to reduce weight in the front.

      The fish finder box and battery weighs prob 3 lbs total. It's a small trolling motor battery

    How is the box holding up? Did you have to reinforce it at all? Does it stay in place under the thrust of the motor?

    • @ttoohot4yoazz
      @ttoohot4yoazz  6 лет назад

      Juan Salazar the console is holding up great. And how snug the console fits into the kayak normally, helps with the thrust. It barely moves when you crank it from 0-5. Since I've have put the rudder and motor on. I've used my paddle a few times only in very shallow water. Definitely loving it.

      Brandon Crow only thing I would do different is install some kind of big washer on top of box where clamp on trolling motor shaft meets so you’re not wearing out the box lid by turning trolling motor back and forth. Great video and very helpful. Thanks
      Ps Just saw your other video where you do have a washer on the bottom of box, I would do same on top.

    Did you have to cut a hole in the bottom of the kayak to be able to slide the motor in? Maybe I missed it, sorry.

  • @107mario
    @107mario 5 лет назад

    What did you use to stop the wiggle at the bottom of the box since the hole I cut is a lil bit bigger

    • @ttoohot4yoazz
      @ttoohot4yoazz  5 лет назад

      Explicit xGB I just used a plastic round washer cut smaller than the hole I cut and that takes up the play on it

    your way is difficult an causes u to damage your utility storage box i found a much better way that requires no drilling no damage to the kayak or the accessory's and is a much easier way to figure it out when i get the proper motor i will show a vid on it. showing just how simple it is but still looking at motors.
