    Nice job on your 1st vid. I enjoyed the setup and info on this product. I had no idea the floor was that hard, it seems like a softer type material in other videos out there so I just assumed that it was until you pointed it out. Like the rig and looking into it myself. Thanks for the share!.

    I like my anchor wizard at the bow face into current wind or waves. Shore is stable this way. Everything is a trade off. Put a $150 salt water trolling mort 37 lbs thrust ,2x3” lumber bolted across rear rails out left side. Just marvellous. Lithium 12v- 100AH battery

    I use a yoga mate , it works great. I motorized my BF120 with a NewPort 36 lbs thrust lithium 100 amp hr battery where cooler is Anchor Wizard is at the stern , so wind is at my back. Use 4 chains as anchor. Wish it had forward facing on rod hold. And wish it had cover places to get access to the haul . Use Tri Fold Revits to secure heaven needs . Love my brown colour. Fish the inter coastal waters in south Florida, Good luck , it is a great cheap stable beast

    Great video! One thing I would recommend if you haven’t already is that you make that anchor setup a quick release so you can get away from it in a dangerous situation quickly and go back to it when it’s safe and I reverse rigged my anchor so that I could pull it free in event of a snag. Great video!

    OCD is useful when keeping things organised on a yak :D . Good idea that, adding carabiner to the front rope for tying up and mooring ! How do you find the seat after taking it out a couple of times - the material looks a little hard ?

    • @Bullitt5339
      @Bullitt5339  5 лет назад

      The seat is fairly comfortable, but after about 5 hours I notice a little fatigue in my back. That's easily offset by standing up more often to stretch out, something this kayak is perfect for.

  • @jamesleary1405
    @jamesleary1405 4 года назад

    I found out they designed the rod leashes to actually attach to the first eyelet on your rod which would mean it's just the right size. Now as I'm sure you will agree with me on I rather not use my eyelets on my rods for attaching the leash. It makes no sense to add that kinda pressure to your rods eyelets. But you can just wrap it just around the pole just above the real seat and latch it to itself or you can do as you did.

    • @jamesleary1405
      @jamesleary1405 4 года назад

      Idk if you've seen it our not I'm a new owner myself of a big fish but I've seen many saying using yoga mats over the floor reduces the noise greatly.

If I do wind up getting one, I definitely plan on making a template of the stock mat and gluing (or screwing) down a roughly 1/4 inch soft rubber grippy mat on top of it. Aside from a much of other mods of course.

    @gruverdog1 5 лет назад

    I would of went with the 120 but decided with the 105 im not a very big guy and hauling it will be much easier still same kayak but shorter. I also ordered mine from austin kayaks but got the beaver tail rutter package. I dont like the floor mat either as a temporary fix i may just get a thin rubber car mat that will add traction an cover up the noisy plastic mat. I would like to eventually get a few rolls of deck matting an cut out pieces to fit through out the entire kayak to give it a custom interior with 2 different colors that will match the kayak and give it a unique look plus making it very quiet with any movement inside the kayak ill do all this after i remove the plastic mat that 3 waters thought it be a good idea to add and toss that in the garbage.

  • @smgramlick

    Would you buy it again. And can you paddle it upstream.

    • @Bullitt5339
      @Bullitt5339  6 лет назад

      Steve Gramlick I would buy it again. In my humble, semi-educated opinion, it's the best 12' or larger kayak that you can buy for $1000. I have been fishing 2-3 times a week on it and have been pretty impressed.
      Paddling upstream? Well.... Maybe. It depends on how fast the water is moving. I have taken it a few miles upstream in slow moving current and it did fine in that instance. It is a big, heavy, wide kayak though. When I'm headed into current or into strong winds, I have noticed that putting the seat in the lowest position really helps a lot.

    • @Bullitt5339
      @Bullitt5339  6 лет назад +1

      I looked at the Shadow Caster before buying this one. The rear storage in the Big Fish is larger, the seat is more comfortable, it's more stable while standing, and it has a sonar pod to keep the electronics in one package.
      I thought the open front storage was a negative on the Big Fish was a negative until I used it for a while. I can beach the boat and walk out through the front storage and never even get my feet wet both entering and exiting.
      The only thing I'll say is better about the Shadow Caster is that you don't need adapters for the rails.

    • @georgelopez6000
      @georgelopez6000 6 лет назад

      Chris Berry u should be fine mounting the transducer under the pod it tucks in good and doesnt pop out the yak

    • @Bullitt5339
      @Bullitt5339  6 лет назад

      Chris Berry My Lowrance transducer does hang down about 1.5" under the boat. I have hit a stump before and the transducer did pop off where it attaches to the plastic mount. I didn't even realize it was 2 pieces and able to be separated before it happened. I thought I had broken the transducer at first, but it snapped back together and there were no problems.
      It did make me realize that it could be a problem in a future trip I have planned down the Rapahannock River, where there's rocks everywhere. I have lined up a guy who will cutout and bend a custom bracket for me to pull the transducer up inside the hull. I just have to make a template for him. I should have the template ready in the next couple weeks and when I get it perfect, I'm going to share it on the 3 Waters Owners Group on Facebook to help out other owners with a Lowrance transducer.

  • @gruverdog1

    I noticed u didnt have rotto grips i got some for mine to help with hauling or just to have a spot to lay down paddle im not a fan of the putting the paddle on your lap while u fish seen dozens of vids where the person caught a fish paddle fell or got knocked off their lap and ended up in the water then they either flipped kayak reaching for it or almost flipped it. This kayak is designed for stability but when u do such things like leaning over exposing your body out side of the kayak u are risking a flip when it could of been avoided by setting down the paddle before picking up the rod.

    Here are a couple more things 3waters screwed up. They stripped the plastic on more than half of the screw holes including the tracks and the seat. And the plastic is full of air pockets. Cheap and lazy.

  • @kevinoreilly2504
    @kevinoreilly2504 3 года назад

    Buyer beware: The track mounts are designed to not fit rod holders from any other company. You will be required to buy (make) an adapter for all of your accessories. Also every location of the tracks will interfere with your paddling and the rod your fishing currently if an accessory is mounted. But you will be charged for them eventhough 3waters is well aware that they will be of no use without a peddledrive. 👎👎Also 3waters doesnt even sell rod holders but they make you buy an adapter to put any other companys accessory on your boat
