    People really should install a charger at home. It is the best. I would simply recommend the Nema 450 outlet. The one dryers use. Takes my car usually 2 to 2:30 hours to charge from 30%(give or take) to 70 to 75%. Good video.

    Weird. I've not had any trouble with my BYD. That keeps the battery at optimum temperature immediatly after starting or when you set it in the app. Then again, Tesla began buying their batteries from BYD a while ago because it's just plain better than their own engineering. I'd say step 1 is: Don't buy Tesla, buy a better EV instead. Step 2: If step 1 has been screwed up and you've given your life savings to Musk, then read the manual. 😆

    • @garyrooksby
      @garyrooksby 7 месяцев назад

      Tesla buy battery cells from BYD. And CATL. And Panasonic. And make their own. Why? To source sufficient batteries for all their vehicles. They're ramping their own 4680s and have multi-year purchase agreements as they ramp their cars. It doesn't mean that the BYD cells are better. That's a ridiculous assumption. The model Y was the best selling vehicle on the planet last year. It was also the best selling EV model IN CHINA (BYD's own back yard). The World's general public has voted with its wallet that Model Y deserves to be where it is. The Seal is a great car and some will prefer it to the Y and that's fine but you assert that it's "plain better" as a personal opinion only, while the market has voted against you. (I assume you have a Seal, although you didn't say.)

    • @SVEVelsen
      @SVEVelsen 7 месяцев назад

      @@garyrooksby No, true, BYD cells are better, because they're better. With Tesla's own and Samsung cells known to spark like a roman candle whenever the charge voltages go wonky. Which is why the Samsung stuff is heavily subsidised so people buy it at all despite its emerging risk as a fire hazard, which is further damaging the image of all EVs (you've no doubt seen the alt-right go crazy over it) Resulting among other things in the 2023 Walibi Flevo fire where a moonlit chargepoint sparked a bit, 34 out of 36 charging EVs shrugged it off, and two Teslas caught fire and burned out, damaging another 4 cars. Kinda tragic as the salvager blindly dumped a 5th car, Atto3 into the dunktank despite it having only a tiny scorch mark on the door, now it's totaled. 👎 I prefer to go by the engineering instead of the marketing. Especially as Tesla is subject to a lot of cult nonsense where people blindly buy an inferior product. Although the sales data as a result of marketing must also wrong, BYD outsold Tesla this year, something they trumpeted rather loudly. 😆

    I hope this video goes viral. I've been leaving this exact same information on all those "Dead Tesla" videos. My Tesla has ZERO issues with cold weather because I charge at home and the car is scheduled to automatically PRECONDITION every morning before I leave for work. This is two fold. 1 the battery loses very little range in the cold and 2 its already warm, and defrosted when I walk out the door in the morning. I don't even have to think about it, just get in and go. My advice to most people is that if you aren't smart enough/cant be bothered to take a few seconds to know the ends and outs of your car OR you cant charge your car at home, then an EV probably isn't the car for you.
