What a great project without anything FugazZy...and the cream pickguard is snazZy and classy 👀
My Tokai Strat has the same theme but with a cherry 🍒 body...
I go to the strat more often than my les Paul due to weight...
As for tone, heyy the Gibson is outstanding but a strat is more comfy with it's own character sonically 😎

That’s funny because I thought the same. I’m reaching for it a lot more than the LP these days!

Honestly if I didn’t still have my nearly completely stock 2008 MIM Standard Strat that I bought when I was 18 and had just started to play (I’ll never sell that guitar). Those mid 2000s squire affinity and MIM strats have a beauty to them. I jumped the second tone pot so it sweeps the bridge and the middle pick up but your idea actually sounds even better.

The late 2000s stock MIM pickups sound great to me. A lot of people don’t like them so they can be bought for like 50 bucks for all 3. Might be a cheap mod that’s a nice upgrade.

I was able to buy a brand new G&G deluxe case for 65 dollars in 2009… ya can’t find one of those for under 250 nowadays.

Mike, do you have any recommendations for neck tinting / color matching - like the spot where you replaced the affinity logo.

      Ok I will reload!
I use a mixture of strong coffee and Stewie Mac Vintage Amber stain.Acetone in the end of a Qtip
To remove. Follow with a wet/dry sanding of just that area to remove any excess. Now using a QTip and the stain you apply to the surface and let it dry. A few days it will take. Finally a buffer to finish.

I used a mixture of strong coffee, vintage amber tint from stewie mac and use a acetone to remove. Then fine grit paper wet/dry. Then a q tip to start the matching. I finish with a buffer. Takes days so be patient and careful. Good luck!
