      It’s very small compared to American homes. Like everything is the toy version of our style. Not to belittle Japanese styled homes. I love the architecture, but the size is the issue in the city. Only place I know that has this small of housing, well I should say. Only place I know that is similar but still not as small is new York, but it’s so over priced compared to Tokyo, I don’t think most people in the world could afford it. Most are very successful people that live in Manhattan and still live in small apartments making triple most peoples income.

      Where ever there are possibilities of the house collapsing, with walls falling in, a basement is not recommended, as it may crush everyone in it and may not be dug out for several days after an earthquake. Flexible foundations and shallow ones are recommended for less damage in this Earthquake Prone area.

    • @bloodyninen7
      @bloodyninen7 5 лет назад +9

      Yeah I like japanese culture too but the more you look into it, the more upsetting it looks. If this is actually the typical house then that's so bad, they don't even have a garden to enjoy? And the pool is on the balcony? That seems basic for me. I'm in england and most newer houses these days are built alittle smaller to create more houses but even those have a front and back garden and 3 bedrooms at the least and alot of people take pride in their gardens. you need that space for a family. It's cool that they have an attic and basement but as paolo says this isn't the norm so dunno why he showed this house, other videos i've seen japanese houses are alot smaller.
      About the toilet thing, that is an ingenius idea to reuse water like that but again over here, the water recycle plants over here reuses water and washes it over 25+ times (cleanest in europe) and sent back to houses so theres no need for this anyway.

      I'm from California as well and my house is actually really small compared to most 3 bedroom homes but seeing their home made mine feel pretty huge lol I think since they had so many things unorganized was the main reason why it looked so small and cluttered. Being more organized and getting rid of space wasting items definetly made my home feel a lot bigger after.

      I think the cluttering is, in part, caused by having very young children underfoot. I'm sure the mother has her hands full with the kids.

      They have young children so there are toys and stuff that is needed when you are bringing children up I don't think it was bad at all. It looked nice and clean.

    Very interesting insight into an average Japanese home. We just got a toilet/bidet combo here in our home in Canada and we love it. The addition of the sink at the back of the tank is very clever. Their home really is quite spacious and private.Thanks for posting.

      Don't worry, This isn't "Average" nor "Typical" in Japan, those guys are upper class or/and rich people in Japan.
      When I was kid, my house infested with cockroach because my mom is completely utter trash which make a food every 3 days and I ate for like 4~5 days, She hate dishes, so after food became inedible, It rotted.
      Also she has been abusive to her children, You know what? She didn't want hit me with her bare hands because hit someone with bare hands hurt their hands, So she used sticks for beat me.
      AAAAnd my farther was smart as Jerry Smith in Rick and Morty, he was utter useless but he wasn't just useless because He often got beaten by my mother, then he had beat someone else, which was usually his children.
      It was just my childhood, but I still hear children's screaming and their mother's abusive yelling from neighbors.
