I used to draw a lot when i was younger and i was pretty good for my age. Then i suddenly stopped drawing when i reached highly school. I lost all motivation and i wasnt really encouraged to draw by my family too. If i had kept drawing i would be really skilled by now. Regret is a horrible feeling, and i feel this nearly every day for quitting early on. I want to start drawing again by setting targets for myself. Thank you so much for these tips!

I draw comics and like to feature that on my fledgling channel. I love making them and my latest work, Poison Ivy Gulch, is really fun to work on. Seriously, I'm having way too much fun drawing it, creating characters and coming up with jokes. You hit the nail right on the head; you have to like what you do. I think I am scared of the hard work. Honestly. So many other easy and satisfying distractions that are immediate and rewarding. Before technology I would imagine art or creativity WAS the distraction.

I want to illustrate. My favorite artists are guys like Frank Frazetta and the Brothers Hildebrandt. I take my sketchbook to my job at 12:30 in the morning, and I sketch while I am up on the line waiting to sort packages. The world right now is utterly depressing and a nightmare for me to live in. It's been like this for a long time, and over the course of my life my creativity was very much robbed from me. My greatest fear is that I've run out of time to retrieve those things which were stolen from me: My youth, my innocence and my dignity. I've been told lately by my uncle that I can't have the career path I desire, as I've been told by so many people over the years (most of which told me I could have no career at all, or even a job, family, etc).
It may sounds funny but just to be honest what motivates me the most is Anime boobs and girls! I can actually draw a bit but I think it wasnt really enough specially on body gesture.
One of my motivations really is seeing all the bad modern art out there and wanting to be able to produce the art I’d rather see that takes a lot of time and effort. Instead of art that consists of half an hour of randomly throwing paint at a blank canvas which then gets sold for hundreds of thousands, or they’ll take a photo, slap a black and white filter over it and then sell that for a few thousand. It’s really about seeing bad art and thinking “oh god, if I were to call myself an artist in public I don’t want people to think I’m like *those* artists”. The main motivation though is just wanting to be able to draw to the level I want. I’ll see amazing artists who create these hyperrealistic drawings and I’ll think “man, I would love to be able to do that”.
Sir in finding inspiration, this is my serious question in taking a reference photo. How can I credit the author? Is it just like writing your name and signature to your composition and writing "CTTO" . This is for me as a starter to become safe and don't want to hear this so called "Art Thief" from others to yourself. Thanks
