Thanks for your great reaction to another emotional and amazing performances by the BAREFOOT ANGEL. In this performance a 7 yo music prodigy is introduced to the world while appeared in the Norway Got Talent show. With this song, Angelina honored her ultimate idol Billie Holiday (RIP), what an honor.
Even back then Angelina moved her foot when singing, and when she flips her hair off her shoulder prepare for something extra special. She is music from head to toes.
And so the universe becomes aware of Angelina Jordan. Her Mom said she was crying from the realization that she had just lost her little girl to the world. Good reaction to an amazing performance. Appreciate your dedication to Angelina. Her star continues to shine brighter. The explosion is near.
This is the first time she was exposed to an audience. From that moment, she became all of Norway's little gem. Later she went viral with ''Summertime'' aged 8 in the final of NGT. And now she is 15. I believe that if they want to, she would be a world superstar in no time. But the family want her to have her childhood, finish school and grow up. Just waiting for the right moment.
Agree that delving into Billie Holiday is a must; especially for someone in the music industry. She was one of the jazz greats. Getting back to Angelina Jordan, I believe this was her first performance on Norway's Got Talent. Her other performances on that show are well worth a look. Try 'Bang Bang'.
Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Audions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on RUclips before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " ✌️😎✌️💯 *AJ* 💯👣
Researching Angelina once I found her and listened to everything I could find over a year ago I immediately fell in love with her singing, then I learned of her as a person and fell in love with her all over again. Angelina is special beyond just singing, she wants to sing for the world but it seemingly goes deeper than that. Angelina's singing is meant to affect the world in a positive manner IMHO. No gimmicks, just a voice with an angelic sound. Thumbs up Cliff.

Like others have said ,her performance in the studio at 6 is incredible, and her semi-final performance of Bang Bang and final performance of 'summertime' are out of this world. (I think Bang Bang remains my favorite from Norway's got talent by a slim margin) - great review, you were speechless like the rest of us.
This was a great introduction which captured the judges, but when she sang, “I’m a Fool to Love You”, A Cappella she became a Star, they didn’t know what to do with themselves, and when she sang “Bang Bang” you realize she can do what ever she wanted with her voice to make the sounds she wanted. The four songs from NGT are a must watch, and you should watch them together in sequence. It’s unbelievable what a 7 year old child could do with her artistry developed to that high a level.
@@CliffBeatsOfficial , as impressed and in awe as you are by everything you've seen so far, watching Angelina at 6 years old in her schools studio for the first time, will yet again have you scratching your head asking "How?" @@peterhormell1511 I agree. The mashups are great. My favorite ones are Billie Holiday and Angelina Jordan. I haven't seen any Etta James or Nina Simone ones yet with Angelina Jordan.
This was her first audition. Someone uploaded a video that got viral with 5 million views at the time, that's more than the population count in Norway.
Billy Holiday, the immortal Lady Day, has been Angelinas absolute musical role model at this age. And she brought her back to life in 2014. (Anyway, anyone should have listened / should listen to "Strange Fruit " by Billy Holiday. Song of last century)
I cannot even begin to relate my astonishment of Angelina. If you were to give a listen to Billy Holiday singing this song, you would appreciate her performance even more. Billy Holiday had her own interpretation of what the words and phrases should sound like and altered them for no one.... I am simply an older guy who used to be very involved in the 'Kinetic Arts,' however, Angelina manages to turn me into a heap of mush. Thank you for your reactions.....
November 24, 2013 Angelina Jordan Astar auditions to the world, singing Gloomy Sunday, a song so tragic it was banned by many countries during World War II since they worried it would increase the suicide rate. As of this performance, Angelina began to heal the world and will improve the quality of life for countless billions before she is finished. If she is the incarnation of Billie Holiday, then she is surrounded by angels this time instead of demons.
As others have mentioned, it’s too bad you aren’t familiar with the song. It was a classic by Billie Holiday. Angelina listened to the jazz greats, and she said that Billie Holiday was her greatest influence. Angelina’s ability, in this audition, to channel Billie’s tone and phrasing is just incredible. There are four performances from Norway’s Got Talent. This was her first, and her first real public exposure. Her second song is another Billie Holiday classic (I’m a Fool to Want You) and Angelina sings it a capella. It is maybe her most astonishing young performance-a seven year old, in front of an audience and judges, absolutely nailing this difficult song without any musical backing. It would be difficult to find an adult willing to try that. Her next two songs for NGT were Bang, Bang and Summertime. She doesn’t channel anybody on those. It’s Angelina giving us her own versions of these two terrific songs. Jaw dropping talent and confidence. You should watch all three. You may know that she won the NGT competition. How could she not?
Thank you for this reaction. Angelina is just starting at this stage of her amazing career. As you see she has her control and tone and timing. Just truly makes you think she was touched by angels.
Yes. Angelina is very special. Then, she sang Billie Holiday's 'I'm a fool to want you' a cappella, 'Bang bang' and finally 'Summertime'. Omer Bhatti, the judge at the left, said later in an interview that after this first song they didn't know how unique Angelina was since they saw her in the rehearsals of the others songs that she indicated to the musicians how she wanted them to play the instruments.
Aww Cliff - what a lovely fantastic surprise for me this evening to see you reacting to this. This for me (after seeing her sing Bohemian Rhapsody at 13 in AGT) was what really brought home to me what a talented and amazing girl this is. You should have a play of Billie Holidays version of this also and the reply this video. ( I am surprised your onions didn't come back today as mine did and I have watched this a 100 times). And yes, her little face at the end just showed how humble she is / was, she was waiting patiently for the judges to tell her she could proceed to the next round, all the time showing in her body language she hadn't taken it as a given or for granted, whilst everyone in the audience and watching new they had just witnessed something very very special and there was no doubt about progressing. Please whilst you are in this segment of AJ's life, do the full NGT videos, i.e I'm a fool to want you ( a cappella wow) and then Bang Bang and the finale Summertime. Love your reactions Cliff. See you next time.
Cliff, thanks for another beautiful reaction with Angelina. Her first public show with Gloomy Sunday, the famous song that Billie Holiday sing for the first time in 1941, was an astonishing event for those who lived it at that moment, the emotion one feels for her first performances, in which she wonderfully connects her voice and talent with aspect of that little bird playing, it is very big and intense and leaves you permanently marked. ❤️ ❤️ To think that at 7 years she was perfectly capable of reading, analyzing and making contact, in a foreign language, without any doubt or fear, with the public and with the talented judges seems impossible. She convinced her mother to sign her up for Talent because she was confident ... at seven years! In the days following the performance, her online video recorded over 5 million views in a country, the Norway, which has as many inhabitants 😁 I agree with you what the judge says at the end of the song, "you are the music", is the simplest and most perfect description of Angelina ever ❤️
Unfortunately most reactors stop the video prematurely. At the end of the video the judges talk with each other about the incredulous performance they had just witnessed. One judge states, "Did you hear that rasp? It sounded like the girl has been drinking whiskey since she was born!"
@@CliffBeatsOfficial It's just that there are different uploads of this that are all edited differently (in the original videos). The one you reacted to is not only somewhat abbreviated, as you could see the captions left a lot to be desired. Here's a more complete, better-subtitled version you should watch: ruclips.net/video/d3gSho9yf88/видео.html
I've just scanned the 50 comments below and it would be great to see the other 3 performances at NGT. She goes a cappella for her next song with another Billie Holiday song "I'm A Fool To Want You". You should listen to it before the reaction to be even more blown away. Others have also mentioned "I Who Have Nothing" at an even smaller 6 yo that Tom Jones popularized in the early 70's. Loving these reactions Cliff!!!!
FYI; Here is a playlist of most everything posted (by her Mother and Grandmother) from before she made this appearance; some not so good, but others still have the WOW factor, all are entertaining and help fill in her story. ruclips.net/p/PLySL7rbiavQdojPuSU1yZDRvj752g9J1b
This is the first time I saw a you child with lost teeth and big hair and she sung deep in my heart, so I can't resist. I have to hear her everyday. It's wonderful to see her development over the years Please react to the other performance of NGT, than you understand, why she won at last with 46% of all votes out of 10 acts
This was the world's introduction to Angelina. I watched this shortly after the release on RUclips and was shocked. She has the same sound as Billie Holiday. I've been a fan ever since.
she was the last audition of the day. So this was after she had waited all day long. Love her messy hair, and how serious she was. After this audition aired, she got 5 million views on You Tube!!
If I'm not too late… when you do her next performance in the competition (which you must), her a cappella rendition of Billie Holiday's "I'm a Fool to Want You", make sure you use this version: ruclips.net/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/видео.html Almost all other uploads of it use the edited version that originally aired on TV, in which they excised the entire bridge section of the song. You have to hear the full performance. (And after you react to that, check out this fan-made mashup ruclips.net/video/6GJkqpODGuI/видео.html featuring Angelina's vocals set to the original instrumental track. The music had to be shifted up slightly in pitch to match the key she started with, but her vocals were not modified at all, apart from being chopped into pieces.)
She amps it up after this one. Every song gets better and better. These few songs in this competition is where I first saw Angilina, and this is when I fell in love with her and her music. She is my #1 female singer.🇺🇸😁👍💪🔥
Like your reactions to AJ. She has many sides to her voice. You should check out How Great Thou Art, one of her lesser reacted to videos. It will show you part of her range at 10-12 yrs old. Also, I Who Have Nothing, a Ben E King song from the 60's. It is a rough video taken by her grandmother while AJ was in the recording booth rehearsing at age 6! Enjoy
When the judge asked her about the song, there is more to the story. Gloomy Sunday was banned in some places, because it was thought to trigger suicide.
Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤️💙 Whether you are a believer in reincarnation or not, I find it very intriguing that Lou Rawls, the American Jazz & blues singer legend, passed away only a few days before Angelina was born 😊 Loved your reactions!!!
This was her audition for Norway's Got Talent. She had four performances in total, all of which you should react to. The final was Summertime, Not only was the performance stellar, but the judges comments at the end were priceless, brought tears. Earliest recorded performance in the studio was at age 6, I who have nothing.
Please react to songs that are not covers, because their authors asked to Angelina to interpret them: • “Song for A” (at age 13): It is the only song on Nico Cartosio's album “Melting” that includes vocalization by a singer; the others are merely instrumental. Cartosio wrote this song specifically for Angelina. This lovely song is based on the 1783 poem “The rigs of barley” by Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796). • “I’m still am holding out for you” (demo): It was recorded one week before she turning 11. Some consider it to represent one of Angelina's best vocal performances. I would very much appreciate to know your criteria in this regard.
This was her first real mass public performance. The video that started it all. I don't know exactly how quickly it went viral but you can see why it did. It's remarkable how poised and confident she remains during the pause before the final "Ja!" Also remarkable is how closely she stayed to the original recording by one of the greatest singers of all time. If you can spare a moment, check out the original by Billie Holliday. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 As always Cliff you are an inspiring voice of positivity. Just keep it up sir. ✌️💖👍
For her that it is a sad Sunday is enough. You said she was still developing then, she is still developing now at 15. There are many songs she has sung on the way to 15 that can only be described as masterpieces. Her version of 'Feeling Good' when she was 10 fronting a full orchestra is downright amazing. The her version of, 'This Is A Man's World' at 12-13 is another Angelina classic. But whatever song she sings it is that absolute fearlessness of the young woman that has been her hallmark. Whether she is singing in front of 2 people or 200,000 people she is the same. Every song gets her full attention and talent. Thanks for your reactions. I have a singer I want you to listen to. She is 6 months younger than Angelina but has the same internal drive for perfection. She is from Kazakhstan. Her name is Daneliya Tuleshova and I'm giving you a link to a song that shows a lot of what she is capable of. You can react to it, or just listen to see what she is about. Thanks for considering this Amazing artist. ruclips.net/video/QE1JhTUh6YI/видео.html
Angelina does two versions of I’m a fool to want you--at 7 and she sings same song a Few years later at a recording studio With grandma tell me where they are so worth watching I put a link for her at the age of seven looks just like she looks now simply adorable I’ll send the link for when she’s like I think 10 or 11 probably 11
Cliff, that was the official beginning! Yes, there are recordings of her at 6 years old (and even earlier - how about 1 1/2 singing Whitney Houston What!?!?!?!?) Have a great day, Cliff. You are definitely a true "Angel". Welcome aboard!
It's a shame you're not familiar with the original. She does an impossible impression, but not imitation, of Billie Holiday, perhaps the greatest jazz vocalist of all time. This is where she introduced herself to the world
You see, we are "Witnessing" something! there's no name for this. She has touched so many it's insane! "Next Level Event" She's still practicing, and if this is her just getting started, wow.
Note that the best version with English captions (so you can understand the Norwegian voice-over) is called "Angelina Jordan - News feature in Norwegian TV2 from 2014 (eng sub)" [v=4EPqVvliE7I]. But beware, Cliff: the full segment includes a short clip of her singing "I, Who Have Nothing", the full version of which (recorded on a different day) has been recommended to you (that video is v=RjQZKBpVaes), so you will want to react to that before you watch the news feature beyond the clip of her singing at 1½.
Angelina has a gift for touching peoples souls when she sings. Even at the age of 7. The first judge that said he was out of words is Omer Bhatti. His mother was a nanny for Michael Jackson and he lived with Michael, from the age of 9, for many years. People thought he was his adopted son. They had a father son relationship. This is what Omer said about Michael....“Being on TV and having these appearances later led me to Michael Jackson, where he, in a way, adopted me and became like a mentor and a father figure for me," Bhatti says. ... "He would later say that I was like a mini-version of him," Bhatti says of Michael, "and I ended up going on tour with him. " Jul 21, 2020
Thank you so much Paul! That means a lot to me! I just try to do right by all the fans and the artists. I have love for everyone and the upmost respect. Love from Chicago 🙏
@Cliff -- Consider working your way through the rest of her NGT performances. And if you're serious: ruclips.net/video/RjQZKBpVaes/видео.html This is Angelina in the studio... at age six! See where it began.
During her introduction she should have said.. Hi my name is Angelina Jordan I come in peace🤲 I'm here to take away all your pain, sorrow and heartache..And give you hope, love and empathy through my lyrics and my voice.. it's time for us humans to love everyone and everything..🌎
Thumbs up and then she flicks her hair back like it's just another day at the park....no nerves no pressure...she's spellbinding! Very emotional....born to sing♡
As Kevin suggests, listen to the Billie Holiday version to see how Angelina channels her. Also, consider the lyrics. You just watched a seven year old singing about considering suicide: [Verse 1] Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless Dearest, the shadows, I live with are numberless Little white flowers will never awaken you Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you Angels have no thought of ever returning you Would they be angry if I thought of joining you? Gloomy Sunday [Verse 2] Gloomy is Sunday, with shadows I spend it all My heart and I have decided to end it all Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are sad, I know Let them not weep, let them know that I'm glad to go Death is no dream, for in death I'm caressing you With the last breath of my soul, I'll be blessing you Gloomy Sunday [Bridge] Dreaming I was only dreaming I wake and I find you asleep In the deep of my heart, dear [Verse 3] Darling, I hope that my dream never haunted you My heart is telling you how much I wanted you Gloomy Sunday

I think this was Angelina's her first appearance on stage. If you compare this performance to the original by Billie Holiday you will notice that the two sound very much alike, no kidding.
Among the more astounding aspects of this performance is the 7 year old Angelina's exquisite use of the vibrato from the blues singers of the 1950's, on the trailing ends of phrases. Modern vocal coaches don't teach it that way, she has to have just picked that up on her own, perhaps with Grandma Mery's help. She also has great breath capacity here, but doesn't even realize that controlling the timing of each breath is important. Yet by the third performance on NGT that is fixed, I'm guessing a professional coach pointed it out to her and she immediately understood and fixed that little flaw. Demonstrates other expert techniques as well, pitch, tone, decoration of notes, etc. Just amazing, a sponge for vocal techniques at age 7-8.
Just amazing.
Another cracking reaction, please keep them flowing from the UNBELIEVABLE AJ.

She is takently blessed
Thank you for this reaction. Angelina is just starting at this stage of her amazing career. As you see she has her control and tone and timing. Just truly makes you think she was touched by angels.
She definitely was blessed by the music gods but she also has worked so hard. She is so amazing!
In the days following the performance, her online video recorded over 5 million views in a country, the Norway, which has as many inhabitants 😁
I agree with you what the judge says at the end of the song, "you are the music", is the simplest and most perfect description of Angelina ever ❤️
Unfortunately most reactors stop the video prematurely. At the end of the video the judges talk with each other about the incredulous performance they had just witnessed. One judge states, "Did you hear that rasp? It sounded like the girl has been drinking whiskey since she was born!"
Probably because we are trying to avoid copyright issues. RUclips is extremely strict. Thank you for understanding 🙏 ❤️
@@DonaldLancon thank you Donald! I will most certainly watch. I appreciate you taking the time to show me this 🙏
I've just scanned the 50 comments below and it would be great to see the other 3 performances at NGT.

This is the first time I saw a you child with lost teeth and big hair and she sung deep in my heart, so I can't resist. I have to hear her everyday. It's wonderful to see her development over the years
Please react to the other performance of NGT, than you understand, why she won at last with 46% of all votes out of 10 acts
Thanks, Donald!
Thank you Cliff Beats for another wonderful reaction. Smile.
She amps it up after this one. Every song gets better and better. These few songs in this competition is where I first saw Angilina, and this is when I fell in love with her and her music. She is my #1 female singer.🇺🇸😁👍💪🔥
Summer Time and Bang Bang…we love you too…
I love your Angelina-reactions ❤️ Please, listen to more of her NGT-performances, they are spectaculare. Bang-bang!
Please react to songs that are not covers, because their authors asked to Angelina to interpret them:
• “Song for A” (at age 13): It is the only song on Nico Cartosio's album “Melting” that includes vocalization by a singer; the others are merely instrumental.
It's remarkable how poised and confident she remains during the pause before the final "Ja!"
Also remarkable is how closely she stayed to the original recording by one of the greatest singers of all time. If you can spare a moment, check out the original by Billie Holliday. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
As always Cliff you are an inspiring voice of positivity.

Tears again lol..”you’re are music” is generally regarded as the only explanation.
I, Who Have Nothing a Tom Jones cover. Age 6 in studio..she blows tge lid off.
Cliff, that was the official beginning! Yes, there are recordings of her at 6 years old (and even earlier - how about 1 1/2 singing Whitney Houston What!?!?!?!?)
Have a great day, Cliff. You are definitely a true "Angel". Welcome aboard!
She actually won that at 8 yrs old, Norway’s Got Talent!!
It's a shame you're not familiar with the original. She does an impossible impression, but not imitation, of Billie Holiday, perhaps the greatest jazz vocalist of all time. This is where she introduced herself to the world
You should hear her sing “I, who have nothing “. In a recording studio at age 6. She’ll blow you away.
You see, we are "Witnessing" something! there's no name for this. She has touched so many it's insane! "Next Level Event" She's still practicing, and if this is her just getting started, wow.
You have to go back 6 year to hear her first attempt of singing.
"Incredible Angelina Jordan singing when she is one and a half years old" (at 1: 53).
INCREIBLEEEEEE..HERMOSAAAAA QUE VOZ ÚNICA ESPECIAL FELICIDADES ANGELINA QUE CONTINÚEN TUS ÉXITOS 😇👣💯💯💥👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰😁❤❤❤❤❤
😳 she’s so young!!!
Now for the second song that she did acapella " A fool to want you ". There is also " I who have nothing" when she was 6.
You seem such a nice reactor . Greetings from Manchester UK
Thank you so much Paul! That means a lot to me! I just try to do right by all the fans and the artists. I have love for everyone and the upmost respect. Love from Chicago 🙏
From the same competition try summertime.....mind blowing!
@Cliff -- Consider working your way through the rest of her NGT performances. And if you're serious: ruclips.net/video/RjQZKBpVaes/видео.html This is Angelina in the studio... at age six! See where it began.
Just wait till you see her singing a capella "I'm fool to want you".... She *will* shred your heart......
You’ll love it…
Always on my mind , es increíble te hará llorar . Gracias sdos desde Argentina 🇦🇷 🇦🇷
During her introduction she should have said.. Hi my name is Angelina Jordan I come in peace🤲 I'm here to take away all your pain, sorrow and heartache..And give you hope, love and empathy through my lyrics and my voice.. it's time for us humans to love everyone and everything..🌎
Nailed it
Yes, and then after singing, confess that she's actually an advanced alien.
Wait tell you see her at 1 AND A HALF
That was beautiful ❤️😍❤️ Thank You Cliff
It’s all Angelina! I’m just here to watch and spread the love 😊!! Thank you for watching with me ❤️
Thumbs up and then she flicks her hair back like it's just another day at the park....no nerves no pressure...she's spellbinding! Very emotional....born to sing♡
Cliff let's go. A few requests shit find me the one you don't like and I will change your mind. Enjoy your work. 62 chubby and bitter out.
How is there people not familiar with this song??? God I'm so thankful Angelina provided for some proper music education around the world.
As Kevin suggests, listen to the Billie Holiday version to see how Angelina channels her. Also, consider the lyrics. You just watched a seven year old singing about considering suicide:
[Verse 1]
Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless
Dearest, the shadows, I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will never awaken you
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of ever returning you
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?
Gloomy Sunday
[Verse 2]
Gloomy is Sunday, with shadows I spend it all
My heart and I have decided to end it all
Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are sad, I know
Let them not weep, let them know that I'm glad to go
Death is no dream, for in death I'm caressing you
With the last breath of my soul, I'll be blessing you
Gloomy Sunday
[Bridge]
Dreaming
I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep
In the deep of my heart, dear
[Verse 3]
Darling, I hope that my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you how much I wanted you
Gloomy Sunday
Never forgot that number on her dress 7008 please react to Angelina singing at the age of 6 in the studio singing RollingIn The Deep and I Who Have Nothing there’s another one but I just can’t think of it at the moment Always love 💕 your reactions your not loud and acting silly like 👍 some of them they go over the top but I find you a really nice person and genius Love 💕 from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴💖👼👼👸🏻👸🏻🦶🦶👏👏🥰👋
I think this was Angelina's her first appearance on stage. If you compare this performance to the original by Billie Holiday you will notice that the two sound very much alike, no kidding.
Once again, it's just so surreal , bring em on Cliff, thats another great one
Bang Bang and Summertime next please....
