Fellow eye doc here... Freshkote has also been approved for contact lens wear, and is my personal favorite for contact lens wear. It contains povidone/polyvinyl alcohol. This apparently makes the contacts hydrophilic, and the also reduces microcyst edema from contact lens wear... Without a doubt at our office a patient and doctor favorite! Retaine MGD (that you mentioned) is another favorite... It is (apparently) ionically charged opposite of the eye, so it (supposedly) binds better to the eye for improved coverage and longer time between drops. Also, I always recommend to my patients to refrigerate their dry eye drops if possible for improved and more immediate comfort.

I just yesterday bought the Optase drops based on your video. And quitting with the Retin A so close to the orbital bone. And warm compresses. I wish so much I had access to an Eye doctor with as much enthusiasm and knowledge, you are very impressive!

I had lasix about 20 + years ago and wear glasses now still low under 2.0 vision. Well i have dry eyes always did...i went to our eye Institute (university) had a wonderful experience. They recommended me do the warm compress. So I'm on day 2 of wearing contacts daileys. I previously stopped wearing them due to a previous Dr gave me the wrong fitting 8.4 and my eye was always irritated. Anyway, I'm in the correct radius 8.6. Yes!!
Anyway, thus far my left eye feels prefect but my right eye does feel a little dry.
Today, I tried Blink they kinda felt a little burn so i didn't do them again. I tried Refresh relieva a few times they feel okay. But i wasn't the best drops considering i may use multiple drops times in a day.
Should i try the Optase you mentioned on another video? Or the Refresh Alevia?
I'm going to start taking omega 3.
Also I work at a computer all day. I started blinking more per your advice.
    Sorry for the long book.
    Thank you again

    Hello,I'm a 4th year medstudent,I'm 22 years old,I suffer from dry eyes since the age of 15.
Because of my limited capabilities,I just use systane eye drops and warm compresses to treat my condition, I still do undergo alot of difficulties through my life, but somehow I still manage to get things done.
I was wondering if it's possible that you make a video on the long term effects-consequences of dry eyes and the use of artificial tears on eye health?(being only 22 years old,I do doubt and ask myself what does the future hold for me from a medical standpoint).
I would like to thank you doctor for all your various videos.

I’m struggling to find an eye drop that doesn’t irritate my eyes and make them feel worse. I have severe ocular rosacea, blepharitis and MGD. This resulted in severe eye pain and photophobia, which forced me to quit my computer job and become housebound.
I tried PF Refresh vials with and without the oil and my eye pain got worse. I was constantly putting the drops in and they felt constantly dry, gritty and burning. The more I put the drops in, the worse they got. Then I tried the Retaine MGD drops, which also caused worsening dryness symptoms and severe pain with worsening photophobia. Systaine PF original and ultra same thing with burning and extreme stickiness.
I tried Oyasis plus PF and same issues with eyes burning and more irritated.
I found Optase PF bottle at Walgreens snd started using those. They seem to be better tolerated for the dryness, but sometimes burn severely when I put them in. They are so expensive and now Walgreens stopped selling them. I don’t know what drops to use anymore!
