What’s fascinating to me is how casual he sounds at the end of these runs. Like “yeah just got another one” lol. Doesn’t even sound nervous at the end. Just so much confidence it’s incredible.

The 56:06 wr has lasted for nearly 5 years now, which is most of SMO history. It is incredible someone has finally tied it, and this time provided video proof

This was really impressive to watch! I've seen a few runs throughout the game's lifespan, and even attempted to learn some of the strats, but always get really intimidated by stuff like the various wall-clips.

@@flavored_1 he lost around 32 to sob but running as fast as sob is basically impossible, the absolute best he could get if the run didn't have any mistakes would probably be around 55:56 or something like that but getting that is extremely difficult

Congratulations! Maybe a stupid question as I don't follow the SMO speedrun scene, but is this THE one route for a long time you're trying to perfect, or is there a possibility for discovering some more glitches / alternative approaches to routing? Anyway, amazing run.
no many glitches and fast routes were discovered pretty recently, like the block thing at the beggining of the run to capture the frog

You can dive 1 frame earlier than pressing y to cap throw
