- Today's video is all about the FX30 camera, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on this little guy with you! I recently got my hands on this camera and have been playing around with it for a while, and let me tell you, it's insane!
In this video, I'm going to share my impressions of the FX30 and take you along on a chill and relaxed journey. From its compact size to its intuitive controls, I'll be talking about what I love (and don't love) about this camera. I stuck with a Sony a6100 for years as my personal camera learning the ins and outs of it. I felt I never really had to upgrade because I already work at a place that utilizes both cinema and broadcast equipment. This past year my work has made me realized I want to do more of my own passion projects. I recently just upgraded to the fx30 as I felt I needed more flexibility. I still have the a6100 for photos. *I've got the same setup Sigma 16mm but also running the 11mm f1.8. But I also used to have the a6400 but I'm using a Smallrig cage and running Sony tough cards 128GB v60 & Did My First Vlog and it was Amazing. Nice Video Hope you love your FX30*

This is a nice video! I like your sharing about FX30, i just get mine. Before FX30, i am using 6400 and still i kept it until now
I do went for 4k 10 bit 4:2:2 shooting and hell yeah the file size was huge and my iPad cannot preview it natively, haha
So mostly i am doing 8 bit now, i mostly shoot for vertical video content too so it doesnt need that 10bit at least for me right now, but this is a great camera for futureproofing!

Wonderful video, thank you for sharing. I can also relate as I own an a6400 which I love, but can’t push the colors as much as I would like to. I purchased the FX30 which should arrive tomorrow. Curious to what codec you shoot in due to size/editing limitations?

When I got the camera I really wanted to be able to shoot 4K 10bit. Now I’m shooting XAVC S 4K 8bit mostly because of storage and workflow ( whenever I’m shooting something for RUclips or Instagram) but for professional work I try to go for higher quality whenever is possible
I love this video. I have had a similar experience upgrading from the a6400 to a Panasonic S5. Continued success. ;)

I subscribed after watching this and know what you’re going through. Just got my new fx30, then needed new sd cards, then new cage, then needed to upgrade my gimbal because it weighs to much 😂
Bought Sony 11mm lens and the Sony 16-55mm to start. I can see myself adding two more soon.

Yeah, once you buy it you think you will be killing right away but there’s so many things that you start needing and waiting to slowly build
But the important is that even with only 1 lens the investment is worthy
@@jaminerodrigues my Sony ZV-1 made makes me a good amount every month. So this was a wise investment. You trying to go RUclips full time/primary income? It takes a while but keep pushing and it’ll pay off.

The taxes are insane 2000 - 2700 damnn. If New York was a drive away i would go there buy from b and h then go back to Canada

I'm in this transition between wanting to have better gear to work with and thinking that I could do more and get more jobs with a better camera.
I work with a Sony a6600 - btw I love that camera a lot - but I wish it could have more tools for me to practice more my filmmaking skills.

Hi Janine, thank you for this video it makes me not worry as much about the gear. I have the bmpcc 6k pro for about year and half and I just bought the fx30 but don’t have lens or cfex card or anything lol but I appreciate you saying just building it up slowly cause sometimes we feel like we need everything at once. What is that cable running in mic? Is it charging or it is the cable that goes into Camera?
The cable is a 3.5mm basic cable connected straight to the camera
@@jaminerodrigues What model is that? I thought all mics have cable fitting thing at the end of it.
I went from a canon 5d markiii to a sony a6300. I got mad because a few months later, sony released the a6500. I learned a lot while shooting with it. A year and half after the fx3 was released i finally got it. I learned my lesson to not purchase cameras right away with sony. If I've gotten the a7s3, i wouldve been so pissed that fx3 was announced. Now, a7s3 owners are mad because there are no firmware updates.

In my country India, the price for fx3 is $4893 for body only while $2201 for the fx30 body only.
